Came to Buxton for a Xmas walk and catch up with family. 4 of us ate here on the Friday evening without booking. The service was excellent and attentive. Food was tasty and plentiful. Friendly atmosphere and a nice change from the usual fayre on offer. Glad we chose here and would come back again.
Overall, very good. The wine was beautiful, was a Greek red. The Greek salad used very tasty tomatoes (hate when they are under-ripe), good qaulity olives and feta. The Yiouvetsi main was very good, pasta falvouful, lamb was generous portion and tender. Some of it towards top was tad dry but mostly not. Andreas and other staff were all warm and attentive.
Fantastic food and service, easily the best souvlaki i've had in England, and the cod was wonderful. Will definitely come back!

We had really good meal at Ithaca on Saturday evening. The owner was very accommodating with the booking which was last minute. The food was good and all items hot (apart from salad), we ordered the sea bass (which partner thought was exceptional) and cod and shared a Greek salad. Portion sizes were good. The service was very good and attentive apart from initial wait for menus.

We were lucky to get a table - booking definitely recommended, even midweek. Excellent starter (baked feta) and wonderful main courses (I had tarragon chicken). All food tasted amazing, and cooked to perfection. Tremendous blend of tastes, and the sauces (excellent in themselves) didn't dominate the taste of the dish. Menu identified gluten free options, and there was a great choice of these. Desert was also marvelous. Good choice of wines. Service was very good, and the restaurant was busy, but not too noisy. Not a cheap visit, but priced to reflect the quality of the food Hard to fault anything really...

Absolutely top notch dining experience at Ithaca. Highly recommend you book a table as other potential diners that hadn't booked were turned away. Anyhow , warm welcome on arrival , delicious food and good service , what else do you need ? There is an extensive menu and it was difficult to pick as there were so many nice dishes so as a compromise we chose one main dish and then added 4 starter dishes and a portion of fries. All cooked to perfection and packed full of flavour. Full plates to empty plates tells you all you need to know. Overall , a super dining experience and can't wait to visit again No hesitation in recommending, enjoy !!
Very good food, the owner is soooo Greek (which is a super positive thing!), an amazing and funny guy. The location is nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it again and go again!
