Avoid Avoid! Think its changed hands recently, the new management aren’t at all welcoming. The last management were really nice people, Shoplifters weren’t allowed in but current staff aren’t bothered (manager included) The locals are friendly enough though.

I appreciate it was a busy weekend, but service was appalling, with music blaring in the courtyard making it difficult to hear in the pub. This used to be a half decent boozer, but no longer. One to avoid, there are plenty of other, far better pubs in the town. They should also be investigated by trading standards and advertising standards for their claims to sell 'traditional ales', when in reality they only sell bland, cold, tasteless, fizzy keg drink.

Myself and two friends visited the Wheatsheaf for casual drinks after a long drive. On arrival we were immediately greeted with a smile by the two managers behind the bar, we ordered our drinks and sat down. The pub was very clean and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We had a look at the menu but didn’t eat as we’d not long eaten, however the menu looks very good and is very reasonably priced.

Myself and my partner visited the wheatsheaf for a lovely meal and some drinks. On arrival we found a welcoming atmosphere. The landlord and landlady greeted us within 30 seconds of our arrival. We were immediately asked what we would like to drink and if we’d had a good day. The food was absolutely amazing and very well priced. The portion sizes were really good for the price you pay. The pub is definitely family friendly and we will definitely be visiting again.

It has became our regular pub now and we absolutely love it. Friendly staff and brilliant prices. Situated in the middle of the high street with free parking! Fresh cobs behind the bar and great off the menu food as well.

Perfect pub to come for a warm welcome and at home feel. Just like old pubs used to be! Fair prices on the drinks and amazing fresh cobs available behind the bar ☺️

Friendly enough place serving a decent pint. The music playing as we arrived was a bit loud (and not really our taste) but as we ordered another track started to play that was a much nicer blues track. The landlady apologised for the music saying it was on random and promptly switched to something even worse! Perhaps not assume the music isn't everyone's taste just because it's not yours?
