   Myself and my Family attended of a Close Friend wake after attending to her funeral on the 18th November 2025, where we were told there would food and hot drinks to continue the celebration of her life. When we arrived we asked the member where we could sit and asked about the hot drinks. We got told anywhere was fine and she would need to wait for her manager to sort out the hot drinks. I was also asked who made the booking, I said my friend’s name and I took a seat. After Dana and her family arrived, she spoke with the bar staff and had been told no food or hot drinks had been prepared. As this booking was made about 3 weeks ago when the funeral arrangements were finalised, this was a shock and unacceptable considering the circumstances of the booking. 30+ people arrived to no food and no hot drinks available. We felt let down and overlooked. This is not how someone’s life should be celebrated and will not be returning for any future events.

   On the 18th November , we attended the funeral/cremation of a close friend, followed by a wake at The loom and Shuttle. When we arrived the young lady behind the bar was already serving someone, but still had her mobile phone seemingly glued to her ear on a call. We waited until she had finished serving, and also finished her phonecall, to ask about tea or coffee and where we should sit for the wake. She couldn't do any hot drinks due to the other staff member being busy in the bottling room. We waited for them to start bringing the food out, but nothing had been prepped, even though our deceased friends daughter said it was clearly in the diary. So 30+ attendees of the wake had no food or tea/coffee available to them. We felt so let down by the place, and they just didn't seem to care, stating that the boss was on holiday, seemingly, to try to put the blame on him. I'm sorry, but after that let down, we won't be going back there again.

   Lovely pub with great staff. The food is superb and the carvery is a brilliant addition with plenty of choice. We are always made to feel welcome. I have an autistic son and hes accepted here like any other person. Would recommend this pub to everyone

   Closed up and dark inside despite Google stating open into 11pm. Update your times! Downright irritating when popping out for 1x drink with a friend to find it's fully closed and locked up by 10pm. Update your opening hours!

   I like the presentation. It was so well presented. Staff was so nice. I the extra care and effort due to myself and guests having special diets some was vegan some vegetarian. Manager knew our names it was friendly and we enjoyed every minute. And msic for us after. Thank u Will come again defiantly

   Very quiet, menus laid out on tables only to be told when going to order that they were only serving a carvery! 3 members in our party therefore didn't eat.

   Really good service. The steak was cooked perfectly , the best steak we have eaten. Not a long wait from ordering to food being brought out will be revisiting in the near future without a doubt !

   Though this has been my local pub for many many years, I rarely venture in. You can quite clearly see when going past, that since the new owners have taken over, business is thriving there. Yesterday we had the pleasure of holding my grandmothers wake here. The owner kept in touch with me throughout the whole process and was very accommodating. The food was hot, the roast potatoes were absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was pleasant under the circumstances, with staff being polite and friendly too. We will certainly be returning on a more regular basis.
