A must-stop in York for scone lovers! I absolutely loved this little scone house tucked inside the historic streets of York. Everything feels fresh, homemade, and comforting the moment you walk in. The scones are huge, warm, and perfectly baked honestly some of the best Iβve ever had. They also serve other treats that are worth trying, and the portions are generous. The place is cosy, the staff are friendly even when itβs busy, and the smell of fresh-baked scones makes it impossible not to order just one. If youβre in York, this spot is absolutely worth queuing for. A simple, delicious, feel-good stop that makes your day warmer even on a rainy one.

This is a lovely scone shop with delicious teas, coffees, and scones. Tasty seasonal menu for autumn. The service seemed lacking for us compared to others we saw get seated. We were not shown the seasonal menu and missed out on some delicious sounding options. When others were sat, after we ordered, they had the seasonal menu placed on their table and explained. That's unfortunate because rhe apple cinnamon scone sounded amazing and now I'll never know. The scones we did order were very tasty. I thought the lemon and blueberry was good, with hige berries baked inside, but could have used a bit more lemon flavor. The lemon curd was similarly lacking in the punch of lemon I was hoping for and was quite runny for a curd. Still a tasty meal. The highlight for me was the seasonal autumn chutney and it was divine on the cheese and chive scone with cream cheese. A great combo. Absolutely worth a stop while in York!

Amazing! I really liked how reasonably sweet the scone set was, which was on minimal side. We had a savoury cheese scone with cream cheese, and seasonal sweet scones: apple and pumpkin. There was a bit of a wait to get in due to the size of the place, but it was worth it. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and active. It was great to see there was no pressure on the service charge. We were happy adding tips to the bill, though.

Parlormade is always busy every time I visit β and for good reason! Their scones are delicious, and the cheesecake is absolutely amazing. I love this place so much and always end up taking some home!

Delicious scones with a great selection and excellent drinks. We picked up food to takeaway and ate outside on the picnic tables. It was the best value for food we had during our 3 weeks in the UK. Everything was absolutely delicious. They also had gluten free and vegan options available.

Lovely scones, not enough clotted cream for the Mister, but such a cosy experience sitting upstairs with people cooing at the baby. Happy this was my chosen spot for my scone break! Excellent, friendly staff that can't do enough for you!

Amazing scones. Had the regular fruit scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream and they were divine. Also tried the one with melted cheese and chutney - not your usual but so, so delicious. Lots of other flavours available, wish we could have tried them all!

Honestly I would move to York just for this beautiful cafe, its beautiful and historic from the outside right on the Shambles, the view of cakes freshly baked in the window to tempt you. I'll admit its a lil cramped but it's old historic buildings, its expected, sadly you wouldn't be able to get upstairs if you're in a wheelchair and I'm doubtful of any downstairs seating though I could be wrong, there's a singular toilet on the top floor also, but the cakes are so good you should definitely try and get one if you can. I sat on the top floor overlooking the Shambles markets and shoppers as I enjoyed a hot fruit Scone with cream and jam... Honestly it was so peaceful, you could feel and enjoy the history. I'm returning again on Halloween weekend and I'll hope to sit in that window again and live in that moment once more. The Scone is the best I've ever had, soft, rich, not too sweet. Delightful.
