    AVOID .....this is the first and last time I'll be going to this cafe..absolutely terrible sandwiches..bought 3 sandwiches 2 bacon and tomato and 1 bacon and mushroom..they was no butter on any sandwiches 2 slices of small bacon...what looked like 1 mushroom chopped up and the smallest splash of tomato in the middle of the teacakes....its not like they was cheap we paid 11 pound for them ...disappointed is not the word..only went as we was passing.. ill stick to my regular sandwich shop from now on ...lesson learnt.

    What a great little cafe. There’s a good menu of snacks and meals and the staff and very friendly. Cash or card accepted. Indoor and outdoor seating. I went with the corned beef and cheese tostie which was delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area or passing through.

    Me and the lads dine in and take out regular for work! Can’t fault the food, Matthews cooking is always spot on which is why we choose to go there daily! Staff are always rushed off their feet but friendly and welcoming! Defo recommend

    Unfortunately I'm having to do this but I've just had a breakfast from Matthews and it was subpar to say the least. There was too much juice from the tinned tomatoes which had made everything including hash browns soggy. The toast was wrapped in tinfoil so was also soggy. The bacon was the worst, it was extremely well done which I'm not a fan of but it also felt and tasted like it was from yesterday and reheated. I have to say a lot of it went in the bin and had I eaten in and it not been in a collective work order I would have asked for a refund or new one.
