Lovely little cafe. I’ve lived in Skipton all my life and never been here - what a hidden gem!

Staying in Skipton for a couple of days and decided to give this (quirky) place a try since we were curious. Only had a coffee each, so difficult to rate on food. Atmosphere (upstairs) a little like a library (seemingly locals working, reading the papers and knitting), but would probably give it another go next time we are passing.

Really only one place in the town for great coffee if you are a coffee snob. A perfect cortardo made by a professional barista.

*You’ve only gone and done it!* You’ve officially created *the* best Amaretto coffee I’ve ever tasted. I’d say the best in the world, but not having tried every coffee in the known universe (I’m trying), I can’t realistically confirm this. I do however suspect that it’s unsurpassable. I previously ordered a mocha and a hot chocolate to go from here, which were both very nice but not necessarily out of this world. I don’t order beans at the time, but the staff were so pleasant and friendly and the shop was so nice that I decided to return. I’m an absolute fiend for marzipan, cherries, almonds and amaretto flavours of any kind (I almost perished out of sheer delight when I first tasted Opies amaretto cherries), so I had to try the Amaretto Royale coffee beans. I was not expecting it to be so fragrant, honestly, it would work as a car air freshener if you left the bag open and smells like the best Battenberg cake you’ve ever had. As soon as I got home I brewed it - pour-over as I wasn’t sure if the moka pot would bring out the flavour as well. It made the whole kitchen smell delicious, and I thought it would never be able to taste as good as that scent. I was wrong! You get the beautiful coffee notes and then a gorgeous rush of Amaretto flavour afterwards. I couldn’t be more impressed, and I doubt that I’ll ever be without this coffee now. It’s absolutely perfect, like adding a flavoured syrup to your brew but without the cloying sweetness. I also bought some Colombian coffee bags, and I will update when I try them. I have no doubt that’ll be every bit as delicious as the Amaretto beans. I can’t wait to try every flavour in your shop! Update: Colombian coffee also delicious! Went back to grab some new flavours and remembered to take photos.

The best selection of ground coffee and beans in the area. The smell is amazing. Wide variety of teas and coffees.

This is "our local" and we visit weekly for a reliably good coffee experience. Staff are knowledgeable, polite and efficient. Lots of customers seem to pop by to purchase coffee beans and take-away coffees - it seems to be especially popular with Sixth Form students from the local schools! - but there is also a lovely Victorian style parlour upstairs where you can sit and enjoy your cafetiere (or dripper!) surrounded by William Morris wallpaper.

Brilliant service, again, from two of the Fab Four. The ladies who run this shop are so friendly, knowledgeable about the products and efficient that it is untrue. Nothing is too much trouble, the coffee and other items are great AND the establishment is dog friendly - what more does one want?

We recently bought a new super-duper coffee machine that requires coffee beans rather than ground coffee. Coffee is an important part of our day, my wife preferring some of the modern versions, whereas I enjoy variations on a strong Espresso, Continental-Style. This machine needed something special, so we took a trip to Exchange Coffee in Skipton. We used to visit the shop when Charles Hallas owned it and it's pleasing to see that there's still an excellent choice of coffees and staff that know their stuff.
