Very warm welcome. Attentive staff and a lovely ambience. We ordered the fish pie and lamb shank. The fish pie was generous and delicious but my partner wasn't happy with the lamb shank. He politely asked if it could be cooked a little longer and the hostess came back with a perfectly cooked second helping which we were astounded at; we would have been happy to just have the original piece recooked. The waiting staff checked in to make sure everything was OK with the second serving. Attentive! Thank you - we will definitely be back.

Our first time visiting here yesterday for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint! We were seated very quickly with our drink order taken straight away. The Sunday Lunch menu had plenty of options available to suit everyone’s tastes and there was a specials board on offer too. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. There was plenty on the plate and it tasted incredible. We had our 2 year old son with us and the children’s menu offered some really good options and the portion sizes were spot on, not over filling for a child. Overall a really warm, cosy and family friendly pub that I would recommend to anyone! We will certainly be regulars.

A charming little find on our way through. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We came and enjoyed a lovely Sunday Roast, great meat choices, tasted lovely, compliments to the Chef. Enjoyed a few nice cold ones in great atmosphere and finally finished off with an Apple Crumble for pudding, tasted delicious and brings back 'homemade Granny's cooking'. Lovely ambience, a good sized beer garden. The pub is great for couples, solo or family and friend catch ups. Ample parking.

I've not been here for many years, it's a bit out of the way but I was nearby so stopped for lunch. It's a traditional pub with three real ales but the food is restaurant quality and a cut above the average pub food, well presented and clearly home made. We had three courses and everything was excellent, swift service and reasonable prices given the quality. We are on a weekday and the place was quiet but we would definitely return.

The food here is consistently outstanding and very reasonably priced. Fish pie was packed full of big chunks of fish including salmon. Absolutely delicious. Have been here on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely, relaxed and homely - in no way pretentious. Happily travel the hour and 15 minutes it takes us to get here from Sheffield as it is completely worth it. Our favourite pub for food by far!!
