We had dinner tonight at the Red Bear Pub and it was very good. The atmosphere was great with smaller rooms for talking. Food was superb and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a nice place to eat and drink. The staff was so good with my sea food allergies preparing my meal with extra care as to keep it clean. I will return again before I leave town. I love this place!!

Our first visit here we had Sunday lunch which was delicious will definitely return when we next visit. Staff are very friendly and service was 100%. Lovely pub and the best Sunday lunch. We are a family of 8 and food came out at the same time, all fresh and hot. Thank you to all the staff.

Myself and my parents went here for my dad’s birthday and had a lovely experience. Amazing food, beautifully restored pub with a welcoming atmosphere and we felt so well looked after. The landlady really went above and beyond to make it a special birthday for my dad thank you ! We will definitely be back x

What other brewery could spend millions on a refurbishment and rather than destroy all that made it unique, leave it looking better than it has ever done in its long history. Room after room restored with absolutely no expense spared. Locals in Sherbern are blessed to have such a truly and utterly magnificent pub in their village. An outstanding landlady too, but sadly leaving at the end of July 2024.

Lovely local pub owned by Sam Smith brewery Tadcaster, The pub has a no swearing policy and the use of mobile phones, tablets etc is not permitted inside the pub. The Red Bear serves a good pint at a very reasonable price. A pint of bitter plus soda and lime cost £3.50. A nice family pub with a warm atmosphere.

Hello, I was at the pub this morning and had a lunch. I go to the pub a lot more often than I used to since there is a new landlady and her partner working there who make the experience amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is doing well and that the food is amazing. They are both very cheerful and even when busy will take time to make sure everything is perfect with your food and the experience. The bartenders are also lovely! I got to know them all over the last few weeks and they are all very different and add something unique to your experience! I've noticed that a few people have an issue with mobile phones but from my experience since the first time walking into the pub I've noticed all of the signs saying '' no mobile phones ''. I think it is a unique approach and it encourages people to socialise rather than look at their screens which we all do enough anyway. :) I would highly recommend visiting the red bear with an open mind, its not your regular day pub so don't be quick to judge. Everyone has their own preferences and if we're talking about mine.. 10/10 :)

Came across The Red Bear by chance - bit lost to be honest! Drove past and was struck by the presence of the building on the high street. Managed to find somewhere to park and walked a few minutes back. Really interesting place, beautifully refurbished, with lots of lovely touches (toilets immaculate - always an indicator). Ordered our food as were both famished. Food absolutely spot on and staff so friendly. Even ordered a pudding. If ever finding ourselves here again I wouldn’t hesitate in dropping in.

Always find it strange that Sam Smiths pubs pop up for review after you visit them bearing in mind that mobile phones are barred in the pub. However I like the atmosphere that their rules crate and this refurbished pub is spot on
