I visited this cat café with my daughter and my mum, and I honestly can’t praise it enough. My daughter absolutely loves cats, and we thought this would be the perfect treat for her and it turned out even better than we hoped. She was so excited, and the moment we walked in, the hosts made us feel completely welcome. They were warm, calm, friendly, and took the time to make sure we were comfortable and knew everything we needed to know. The cats themselves are incredibly well cared for, relaxed, and affectionate. You can tell immediately how much love, time, and effort goes into looking after them. Some are rescues, too, which makes the whole experience even more meaningful. Seeing my daughter light up while interacting with them genuinely made her day. We also ordered pizza, and it was honestly delicious. Another great reason to visit! What makes this place truly special is the heart behind it. The owners put everything into creating a safe, calming, supportive environment. They even run SEND sessions and mental health support groups completely for free. It’s clear they do this out of passion and kindness, not profit, and that deserves real recognition. This café is a gem. It’s peaceful, welcoming, caring, and run by people who genuinely love what they do. I highly, highly recommend visiting, especially if you want a wholesome experience with beautifully cared for friendly cats. My daughter is still talking about it, and we’ll absolutely be visiting again.

We've been several times over the last few years to the cat cafe and we've always had a wonderful time - our 8 year old loves it. The cats are always very well looked after and well fed. Place is always clean, the staff and cats are all very friendly. It's lovely just to relax on the chairs with a drink and let the cats come to you, they love being fussed and will often sit on your lap, some times you'll have several on your lap at once. Definitely try one of the stone baked pizzas while you're there, best pizza around plus they do an amazing biscoff desert pizza with toasted marshmallows which is honestly amazing. All the cats are rescues, they are beautiful animals and some are available for adoption too. They have loads of a regular events on if you fancy giving something a bit different a try. They have a really relaxed atmosphere which is just perfect for those with SEND. It's not very expensive and all the proceeds go to helping the cats so it really is a great cause to support. Well recommended and we'll be returning again very soon.

Me and my boyfriend had the best time today spending time with the sweetest cats that call this cafe home! They’re extremely well looked after, love interacting with customers and are very clearly loved by the volunteer members of staff. We also ate at the cafe afterwards where we had the most amazing homemade pizza - wish I had taken a photo before we finished it. Overall, had an amazing time. So wonderful to hear about the work they do here and will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Best cat cafe there is! The atmosphere is always lovely. All the cats are just so sweet, and friendly, and clearly super well cared for! The cats have so much enrichment both inside the room, and outside in a catio. It’s lovely to watch them play, relax, and have them come for snuggles! The owner and staff/volunteers are also always brilliant, offering as much as they can to all the guests. As a manual wheelchair user, I’ve found everything super accessible and accommodating. Visiting this cafe is always the highlight of my month, it’s simply a very therapeutic, and fun experience!

The best cat café I've ever been to! Adam is such a lovely person and the various groups & activities that are run at the café really benefit the local community. The cats are super friendly and cuddly, within a few minutes, I had a cat snuggled up on my lap. It's evident that Adam takes great care of the cats and they all seem super happy to be there. We had some vegan pizza, which was amazing! It was delicious and there was so much cheese on it!

All the surfaces were wet from constant spraying, far too many cats for such a small space. A very overpriced experience especially since the drinks I'd ordered were left to go cold.. it was just a very wierd experience that left me feeling so bad for all the cats.

First visit today with my 2 young children and we all loved it. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The cats are so adorable, every single 1 of them. Many of the cats were happy to approach us and sit on our laps, most of the others were happy to be approached and stroked. Only a couple of cats were shy but were more than happy with us being there. The hot drinks and pizzas were incredible. We will definitely be returning in the very near future. Thank you so much xx

We first visited Cat Village North (CVN) in September 2017, and have been returning on a semi-regular basis ever since (pandemic notwithstanding). In that time it has transformed from a “traditional” cat cafe (ie. a cafe with cats in it), to a multi-use space that includes a sanctuary for the cats, and a separate cafe/bar area. Having experienced the difficulty of trying to prevent the cats from swiping our food (which has always been excellent), I can certainly see the benefits of this set-up! Aside from the cat & cafe visits, CVN offers a multitude of different groups for the local community, from crafting to support groups to movie nights, and lots else between. Sadly we are no longer local to CVN, and so we stick to a weekly trip to see the cats. It’s usually quiet, and visitor numbers are controlled so as not to overwhelm them. In the five years that we have been visiting, we have befriended many cats. Some of them are long term residents who were present on our very first visit, but many of them have been taken in or rescued by CVN for a variety of different reasons. This has included many different breeds and leg-lengths of cat (who knew "sausage cats" were a thing?!?!). Some of them go on to live in the Village, whilst many of them have been temporary residents, who go on to be adopted. Most weeks the cats are excited to see me - wanting a fuss, a lap to sit on, or to play. However, there are days when I show up and the cats are far more interested in snoozing than they are in me, and I am ignored for most of my visit. That’s just the nature of cats, and always a risk that I’m willing to take. It’s worth bearing in mind that any visit is showing just an hour of time out of the lives of the cats, and one of the many hours that are put into the place both for the cats and for the community by the CVN team. It is our experience that the cats are well cared for, and much loved by the owner and the volunteers. It’s worthy of note that the owner runs the place single-handedly (and possesses some sort of Jedi-like ability to calm even the most feisty of feral cats). Why do we continue to visit regularly? They serve excellent coffee (with or without milk) and it is always such a pleasure to visit. Despite being a cynical misanthrope, I never fail to leave CVN without feeling a little better about the world.
