The only nice thing about this pub is the view from it's garden. Terribly run down, dated and totally unlocked after. Such a shame for the perfect location.

Beautiful views and lovely pub, could’ve done with a few more beer choices but well worth a visit

Friendly pub, great atmosphere, great choice of guest beers. They don't serve their own food yet, but bring in catering vans at the weekend, which are always good quality. The pub garden has the most amazing views

Great welcome and refreshing cider on a hot summer day. The beer garden has fantastic views of the valley and is a great spot for a few well-earned sherbets.

Lovely atmosphere, a warm welcome. Super occasional food trucks out the front on some Saturdays. Good variety of beers that change regularly.

Cute little pub in Farley Dale, Derbyshire with a wide variety of local beers and ciders. Loads of board games that you can borrow for a lovely evening. Wood fire to keep warm and cosy. Highly recommended if you are local for a great evening

As neighbours of the Laburnum we have watched with interest and no little local pride as Shep has turned what was once a sad derelict building into a thriving hub to the Hackney and Farley Hill area of Matlock/ Darley Dale. Great choice of beer and the imagination and energy that transformed a silent corner into a joyful little oasis especially during the long years of COVID. Now pub quizzes and great company attract an enthusiastic crowd. Well worth visiting and checking out the view and the friendly staff . Well done Shep!

Good beer and an incredibly friendly place. It's a work in progress and no food at the present but apparently the kitchens are being sorted. We ended up on pub quiz night and were joined by some locals and had a brilliant, fun evening.

One of the only Google reviews I've left, and for good reason. Truly amazing location, service and beer. Shep (the owner) couldn't do enough for us. We arrived in our usual post-walk fashion, with dogs and babies to boot, and Shep was super attentive and helpful. Kept the sun of those that needed shade, and was on hand with more umbrellas when the rain arrived. Legendary. Definitely a must visit for anyone in the area who enjoys a decent pint of craft.
