We visited on Sunday for an impromptu Sunday lunch. We were wet, cold and hungry and were looking for a nice meal. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, they took the time to say hello and make a fuss of my children which was lovely. The sunday lunch was the BEST I have eaten in a pub/restaurant (no exaggeration). Our bill was £54 for 3 sunday lunches, 2 soft drinks and 2 beers - very reasonable. Do not hesitate to eat here, you will not be dissapointed.

After seeing the reviews we decided to give The Church Inn a try. We were not disappointed. The food was the best we have had for a very long time. There were also other good choices I could have happily chosen. Which doesn't happen often. Service and hospitality also really good. We would absolutely recommend .

I’ve been to many a pub in my time, but let me tell you about The Church Inn. It has the cosiest, homiest vibe I’ve ever experienced. The staff are some of the friendliest I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. And the food… OH MY GOD the food. I’ve never had such an amazing dining experience in my life. If you’re ever in this area, you would be doing yourself a disservice not visiting this pub!

Visited here for an evening meal after seeing all the reviews for the homemade steak pie and the food in general. THEY ARE NOT WRONG!!!! Wasn't going to have the pie to start with, as we'd had steak pie the night before, but after the Hunters chicken and the burger were unavailable....we chose to get the pie and we're so glad we did. It certainly didn't disappoint! I had fresh veg and skin on chips, with a side dish of onion fries. Hubby had skin on chips and mushy peas. We wanted more it was that good!! The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and staff couldn't do enough! Lovely little pub bursting with friendly staff and food you don't want to miss!!! Side note: go early before the pie runs out!!!

We had a lovely meal here a couple of days ago! The very friendly staff managed to fit our large group in (8 adults plus a high chair) with no bother. The menu has great variety and all of the food was really delicious and plentiful! We’re proper foodies and so weren’t sure what to expect, but everything we ordered (pies, chilli, fish and chips, hunters chicken and puddings) was really top notch.

Under new ownership. Pub is now clean and tidy. Beer is good. Food and other things to come.

So pleased to be able to visit during the first week of reopening. The drink selection was v good and well presented. The Tim Taylors Landlord, Hobgoblin Gold and Guinness were all excellent. It deserves to survive! We must cycle past and drop in again before too long✅️

Fantastic little pub! Very friendly and efficient service with a personal touch. Our car broke down just down the road and the James could not do enough to help us. The beer was very well kept and at a very reasonable price. If you are in the area, this is an absolute gem and highly recommended. Great outside area too!
