A beautifully quaint pub! Very friendly staff and locals, providing a very welcoming atmosphere. Food was fresh and delicious; a great range on the menu. A proper gem and an incredible find - even the dog loved it!

Was hoping to sample the FCP but no fish, which was a shame. I went down the Bacon & cheese burger road and it was great. A good selection of real ales to sample too. Overall a good pub, would visit again if in the area, hopefully for their FCP.

We have the Sunday carvery on a regular basis, always a good choice of fresh veg, and a choice of 3 meats. The beer is always good with a good choice.

I'm always a bit reluctant to eat Sunday roasts in places I haven't been before, but oh boy... the meat was cooked to perfection! Everything was delicious. I'll definitely keep it in mind next time we'll visit this side of Peak District.

we arrived 1.20pm on thursday, the place was almost empty. we ordered steak pies, three beans chilli and tempura king prawns. the pies were good . the tempura batter was not used for tempura king prawns but anyway the batter was crispy. the three beans chilli was rather in small portion.

We only had 'lite bites' but it was very nice and well presented. Be patient, it takes time to get your food, but it is worth it

It's a good pub if you have children it's family run but I will say there are lots of kids in the pub running around, the food was nice too

A local friendly pub, accommodated 11 of us for food, not surprised it took a while but was very well presented and tasted good.

Needed a meal and a pint after a long drive. Arrived just before the kitchen closed at 7pm and ordered a steak. It arrived promptly, cooked as requested, beautifully medium rare, surrounded by all the usual suspects. Three decent real ales on tap, I sampled the Timothy Taylor's Landlord and wasn't disappointed, very well kept. Friendly locals made me feel welcome. Does exactly what it says on the tin, good food and beer in a traditional pub atmosphere.
