I have just been with 13 others for a nice pre Christmas lunch it was disgusting The Christmas dinners were cold and burnt sounds daft but yes both burnt and cold The gammon was like cardboard and cold Christmas dinners were sent back thinking fresh ones would come but not they had just been warmed up as if not cooked enough already The female waitress was very cocky when we complained She then brought 2 extra rolly polly deserts arguing I had ordered them Luckily I ha your confirmation email Showed her and she walked off with no apology She came with spoons and just dropped them in middle of table for us to dish out There wasn’t even a Christmas cracker on the table I wouldn’t rec comment ANYONES VISITS YOU FOR A NICE CHRISTMAS MEAL yours very gruntled Mrs Ann Clark

12 of us went for a lunch.. Most of us only had the 2 for £15 meal which I know was not expensive and my starter was good but my meal and 2 others who had the stew and dumpling was barely warm . Others had gammon which was tough with 6 or 7 limp chips but 3 had the christmas dinner paying much more than our meal with the sweet extra on top of that. Their christmas dinner was clearly dried up even though they knew the exact time the meal had been ordered for. The potatoes were black and the stuffing which ressembled a flat dried up triangle and the so called yorkshire puddings were pretty much in edible so most of it was sent back. We complained but nothing was said. Then 12 desert spoons were thrown on the table for us to eat our sweet with to set out for ourself even though they had had our order for at least a month before and should have been already set out on the table. Except for 1 young man the woman who served us did nothing about our complaints not even offering to knock any money off for the disgusting excuse for a christmas meal.. I have worked in catering for 30yrs and this was the worst place I have ever been. 12 people definitely not returning.

Pleasantly surprised by the Sunday lunch. Good value for money and a lovely atmosphere Be warned they do not allow you to give a tip on a credit card.

The Jacobean Pub offers a delightful experience as a local establishment with a notably cosy and warm atmosphere. The service was friendly, and the waiting time for our order was succinct. The quality of the food, however, is the chief highlight, particularly the pies. These were fantastic, featuring substantial, meaty fillings; the steak pie was praised for its peppery flavour and richness, and the daily special chicken pot pie was creamy and delicious. The side dishes were prepared with equal care: the accompanying vegetables were seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the mash was deemed exquisite, complemented by excellent gravy. We concluded the meal with the sticky toffee pudding, which was rich and provided an excellent finish. We plan to return definitively.

Staff are really friendly, food was affordable, delicious and didn't take long to come. The beef brisket was absolutely incredible and we will definitely try to come again.

So this was our 2nd visit. Great food great service. Very clean. Prices fair. I have tried 2 different starter's. 2 different mains. Spot on both times. Definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Great place, and fabulous food, we had to wait a while but it was really worth it. Will be going again soon.

We ordered two J2O's, a lime and soda, and an order of pork scratching and sat out on the patio. It was absolutely perfect. A nice view with quite surroundings and an occasional car.
