Visited here for a wake. Pleasant staff and a nice atmosphere, all things considered. Would definitely like to visit again under happier circumstances.
I've been to this club many times but over 10 years ago. I went on this occasion for a wake. I'm not sure if they've decorated in that time as it was exactly as I remembered. You can't mock the bar prices, as with all WMC, the prices are very reasonable. When I used to be a member, the prices were even cheaper. This may still be the case, but I can't confirm. I know they have a snooker team. There is a room to the right with a big snooker table in it ( the bar area). This is the room where the regulars tend to sit. I've only been in there once. When you come in the door, there is a wide corridor. To the right is the lounge. This is the room I went to mostly. They used to have Functions in there, I used to go to the karaoke. I know they have done other things such as spiritualist nights and other things. Back in the corridor, there are the toilets. I can only describe the ladies. The room is quite big, with a large mirror to check yourself. It has 4 toilets so good for busy times. As expected in a WMC, they're basic and old-fashioned, but who cares if you have toilet paper and hand wash facilities. Back in the corridor, direct from the entrance leads into the very large Function room. I've been to many kids' parties in there. It has a decent sized stage and a changing area. They can hold events such as bands and discos. There's a decent sized dance floor and ample seating both next to the dance floor or on the raised areas to the sides. It's definitely worth looking at if you're holding a function. At the back is a good-sized car park. I think if you're in a wheelchair they may need to let you in via a fire exit as they're are steps at the main entrance. There's a small outdoor area to the back, a smoking area to the front, and a small area outside the door go the bar area.
Great place to celebrate a 90th birthday,you can create your own atmosphere. Could accommodate over 70 people at tables easily. Drinks very reasonably priced too.
Great aervice lovely bar staff food was great just put out a little early for such a hot day but great place for a party . Good priced booze great selection of soft drinks
I go to u3a in here I dont know about the club but it has lovely comfortable lounge.
Nice spacious function room, decorated appropriately.
Rugby presentation for kids, perfect atmosphere, loads of family fun, lovely xx
Great venue, warm and welcoming bar
We rented the function room for a birthday party, the staff were very friendly and a good night was had by all.
