I tried a chicken and mushroom pie with chips and mushy peas. Whilst the puff pastry topping was slightly soggy the pie filling made up for it. Lovely pieces of tasty chicken and nice mushrooms. The chips were fine and the peas were beautiful. I also liked that the gravy came in its own little pot. I really don't like it when my meal comes and is over gravyed. The place itself was on the quiet side when I visited but it's a really nice place and the staff on duty were great. It's well worth a visit her I reckon!

We were greeted by lovely, friendly staff on arrival and instantly loved the dΓ©cor. But of course, we came for the pies weβd heard so much about β and they did not disappoint! I had the garlic chicken and mushroom pie with mash and peas, and it was absolutely delicious. My partner went for the minted lamb pie with dumplings, mash, and peas, and he was just as impressed. The food is home-cooked, full of flavour, and very reasonably priced. Definitely a place weβll be coming back to again!

Came early afternoon for the first time after passing for years wanting to try this place β¦.and we will definitely return more regularly! Favourite pub weβve been too in a while (and weβve been to many) Fabulous staff - but the real showstopper was the food! 10/10 proper home cooked pub food! Canβt wait to bring all our family and friends along. Thank you!

Stopped for dinner as driving south to London and had spotted their pie menu online. The choice of pies was unbelievable, homemade and something for literally everyone. It ended up being a bit of a Man vs. Food moment, but absolutely delicious. If you like your pies, check this place out. The option for different toppings was great - we went with the dumpling topping. Yes, dumplings on top of a pie - two of my favourite food groups combined!

I recently visited this charming local pub with my parents and was absolutely delighted by their brilliant pies! With about 20 different varieties, you can choose from three topping options: pastry, mash, or dumplingsβa unique twist that caters to all pie lovers. The food is fresh and home-cooked, which really shines through in every bite. The friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere make the dining experience even more enjoyable. The only thing that could make it better is if they offered gluten-free pie options, but this is only a minor note. Nonetheless, I'm sure we'll be returning soon for a dumpling-topped pie!

Our first visit on the off chance of having food. We did and very good as well. They have the usual main meals, and their speciality is Pie's. With a choice of toppings - pastry, mashed potatoes or cobbler (dumplings). Very reasonably priced all round. We had drinks as well. The portions are not for the faint-hearted, definitely Yorkshire portions! Don't bother with a starter but have a pudding if you can fit one in. Well worth a visit. Good atmosphere and very helpful staff.

What a pie menu! We had Steak & Ale, Ham and Mustard and Chicken Ham and Leek, all amazing, worth every penny for the cobblers alone. Plus a great low-alc beer selection (which is a rare treat anywhere). Lovely staff, great service, top food pub, will be back!

Absolutely spot on Sunday Lunch Which includes a small scrumtious pudding. We had booked but it was so busy we had to wait about an extra 20 mins for our table. (Well worth the wait). Good home cooked food in a family friendly environment, perfect. The young girls were rushed off their feet but nothing was too much trouble. We'll worth a visit.

Lovely carvery. Plenty of food for four adults, in fact we ended up taking a trayful of meat home as there was that much: 2 beef, 2 pork and a chicken bread each! Plus veg, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.
