   I've been coming here for about 29 years on and off.After two years away I came back to discover that today is the last day Henry Boons will be open, after 200 years they finally close for the last time. The staff are still amazing, friendly and helpful. The drinks have always been nice here and the atmosphere welcoming. So many memories of coming here, playing pool, listening to live music and just having drinks with friends and strangers alike. A great loss to Wakefield. Thank you to all at Boons for all the good times.

   Large pub which was oddly quiet on a Friday night. Good range of beers. Decent welcome. Sport shown on large TVs. Furnishings and decor need some updating but pleasant nonetheless.

   Absolutely shocking experience. Went in for a few drinks last night. Considering we had already purchased around 5 rounds and we were enjoying using the pool table. The guy behind the bar looked like he didn’t want to be there and the woman came up to us to ask what we were drinking and followed on to tell us that if we don’t have a drink in our hands at all times then we can’t stay in the establishment. This is just as we had finished the previous drinks and the glasses had just been put down on the table next to us. Don’t know how they expect the business to keep running if they treat customers like this

   Came to boons for a pint with work colleagues before our Xmas meal. Lady behind the bar (guessing she is the landlady) was just rude and unwelcoming, ignored myself and colleague waiting at the bar for drinks and instead stood and talked to a local at the other end of the bar. No please, thankyou or basic manners. Wouldnt mind but we turned up with 20 people at 12:30pm, odviously doesn't want the business. Pint was ok. I won't be going back, alot better and friendlier establishments in Wakefield to visit. Avoid!

   Hadn't been in for a few years but made the effort because they had a particularly good beer on that I wanted to drink. The guy behind the bar seemed to be playing his own music very loudly. It was thrash metal or some such thing....which I didn't mind but it was relentless and when I asked him to turn it down he refused....or turned it down so little as to be irrelevant. I asked him again and he just said that he had turned it down and refused to turn it down any more. I won't ever go back and if he worked for me I'd sack him.....pronto!

   .. 19.50.. I walk in .. looks dead so I ask If they are open bare in mind there is 2 men with full pints talking to the woman behind the bar … “ no we are closing “ she says.. I just backed out... sweet love just fancied a half since had a hour for my connecting train.. no apology or anything.. can’t see this pub lasting much longer due to this kind of management

   Close to the Westgate train station. Only 4 craft taps. Three are mainstream. Nice enough place though. Free WiFi. Fairly cheap at 1.50 a half pint

   Had an amazing time in their side function room; the decor was amazing, old pub style with beer barrels and jazz paraphernalia. Was really cool. The pub side was super friendly with plenty of locals and nice cheap drinks that were actually good. Amazed they had Black Sheep Square on tap. Super great place.
