I have loved this pub since I was a teenager. Very cosy and welcoming.

This is a classic pub in the heart of a proper ancient Yorkshire village. The people, the drink and the ambience were exactly what we had been hoping to find on our visit to the north. For summer visits, there is an enchanting beer garden out the back and up the steps. Go there and go back in time. Do visit the church a mere stone’s throw away, and cool your feet in the lovely adjacent stream.

The only remaining pub in Luddenden, the Lord Nelson ("the Nelly" to locals) is one of the best and friendliest pubs I've ever been to. The regulars can be a little noisy from time to time and the "banter" a little brisk but, as a gay couple, we were welcomed into the village in the kindest and warmest way by everyone. We love it here and consider ourselves regulars now. Mondays and Fridays are usually the busiest nights, with good beer and a wide range of other drinks. Visitors to Luddenden should note that the pub no longer does food, apart from the usual range of bar snacks. I can heartily recommend the Nelly - the bar staff and locals are just wonderful!

This is a great little village pub. Barstaff was very friendly serving us the drinks, though some of the locals crowded the bar making it difficult to order drinks even though we were clearly waiting to do so. In that regard the atmosphere could improve. Lovely interior, some real effort has gone into making it feel cosy and traditionally 'countrified'. Some nice wall hangings and the beer garden is a delight. Overall I'd definitely drink here again, but some of the locals need to get out of the way when it's a small bar area.

Local pub; first time visiting after 2 years living in the area. It’s full of history and tiny, which makes it such a lovely spot; even in the Winter! Bar staff really friendly. Usual Landlord ales on sale, and one or two specialised beers. Didn’t have any food. In the small room behind the bar, there were board games and lots of local history on the wall. Next door church is full of history and has a huge graveyard around the back, with rambling walk along the river towards Jerusalem Farm - highly recommend- and Cat ‘Ith Well pub. Can’t wait to return in the Spring and Summer.
