   Booked for a party of ten and a toddler for a birthday meal . Booked for 5.30pm as we had five children. Didn’t get mains until 7pm. Ok by the adults we can wait. But for the children far too long and they had got past it. Food was fabulous! This could be so brilliant if the service was good. EG no one asked for the orders had to go to the bar and request we were ready to order .our 3rd visit for food here love the food but the service and attention to detail requires development going forward. Hope this is deemed as constructive. We really want you to succeed .

   We heard this pub was under new management so we thought we'd try it out. Been a customer here for over 20 years, and went back on Saturday afternoon. Lovely meal, fantastic service. Very happy. The pub is a proper traditional pub, with open fires and a homely feel. The menu is proper British pub food, just what you want after a long walk out. I had Fish and Chips (I am a fish and chip snob, it was great), by fellow diners had steak and ale pie, and the kids all had burgers. Everyone enjoyed it. I hop eyou manage to keep the pub going, as there are few like this around these days.

   Great food and friendly service. Was a little chilly when I went so it would have been good if the heating was up a little bit. The Beef Stroganoff was excellent and the fish and chips are decent. The chips are cut thick with a crispy exterior. A good quality pub… just get the heating up when it’s cold out. ;)

   Cosy pub in a location with a great view across rural Huddersfield, friendly staff and a big car park. Dropped a star because the food can be a bit hit and miss; I've previously visited and had burgers which were quite dry and lacked flavour, and steaks which were similar even when extra sauce was paid for. Having said that I've also had lunchtime baguettes including the rump steak baguette which is very tasty and good value for money.

   Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, the service is second to none and all comfortably priced. Gravy could do with an upgrade but that's it, the wife had steak pie which was epic, I had the mixed roast dinner,everything was most enjoyable, beware the starters, they're bigger than you may expect, a bit more sourdough toast and we could have shared the gorgeous pate. We will visit again.

   We booked a table for 6 people, a baby and a dog for lunch on a Saturday. Food was excellent and service very attentive. Good vegetarian options. Good parking area across the road. Definitely will go there again.

   Very warm and friendly pub which serves a few real ales. The food menu is superb ant caters for all tastes. The tapas menu available on select nights is amazing. Becareful the traditional large fish and chips menu is like ordering a whale. Just wish we didn't live so far away as this would become our local.
