   at the side of one of the worlds great rivers -the mighty Calder -Good beer friendly staff clean toilets it's all you need if its busy go upstairs - a lot quieter and better chance of getting served quicker

   My friend and I had just had a lovely walk from Halifax to Sowerby Bridge on the canal side and decided to call into Alexander's for lunch. Perfect choice! The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was warm and tasty. Just what we needed to fuel us both up for our walk back to Halifax! We will definitely be going back for a walking lunch and in the Summertime maybe an evening walking meal instead!

   Last weekend, I led the first wedding to be held at Alexander's. It went brilliantly! George, the owner, & his fabulous staff were all so friendly & professional. The building is beautiful - it is an ancient salt mill on the canal at Sowerby Bridge that has been tastefully refurbished to suit our 21st century needs. The upstairs function room is a great size and is bathed in natural light with views of the picturesque canal on all sides. I highly recommend it as a wedding or function venue.

   My son and partner had their baby shower at the weekend held at Alexanders Bar which was an absolutely top day. Great music, gorgeous food and terrific staff who couldnt do enough for us so a big thanx to you all. Hope to see you all again very soon thanks again guys. Carol xx

   Amazing breakfast at Alexander's Bar Sowerby Bridge this morning. If your looking for a top notch weekend breakfast get yourself down, you won't be disappointed. The Eggs Benedict was delicious with perfect poached eggs, and the full English was amazing with the best mushroom I have ever had.

   The waitress that served us was nothing but rude, when we were ordering food we asked a few questions and the waitress answered us very cocky, she made us feel stupid for what we asked and had a smart answer every time. At one point we looked over and there were 2 members of staff behind the bar and 1 on the other side that were all looking at us and then looked to each other and laughed. The meat on the main course was disgusting and neither of us ate it, when it came to our “free” desert my boyfriend didn’t even want his, he just wanted to leave. I asked to speak with the manager and told him how we felt, he seemed to agree with the member of staff and have an answer for everything she said, he was very rude and clearly where the rest of the staff get there training from
