I have just been discharged from a pulmonary valve replacement. Every single member of the all the teams was amazing! Dr Rafiq was so efficient in getting me in asap upon seeing my scans and speeding the entire process at short notice. Dr Iqbal was very clear and informative, no false promises and after a day of struggling to get a cannula in she came herself and did it for me, I am beyond scared of needles or anything remotely invasive but she put me at complete ease. Emily in ICU was on top of everything, she looked after me in my most important state but she was so efficient and attentive when I arrived from surgery and the following day. Dr Hoschtitzky and his surgical team I can’t be more grateful for, they did an amazing job with my surgery and keeping me informed of everything they planned to do & did, anytime he saw me or my family round the hospital he made sure to check in on me. The phlebotomists were all so friendly and understanding despite my anxiety on some days. I was on Paul wood, ICU,HDU and the Alexandra ward, all members of the ward were so helpful and educated I can’t remember all names but Miriam, Asha, Yasmin, Daejong, Esther were all great. The hospital saved my life as a baby and again 23 years later, thank you for everything.

PICU, Royal Brompton Hospital Royal Brompton Hospital is one of the best hospitals. When we came here for our baby’s surgery, we were treated with great kindness and respect. During our stay of more than 17 days in the PICU, we have seen that most nurses are very friendly, caring, and gentle. We have personally observed how carefully they change bandages, nappies, clothes, and beddings. We truly appreciate and respect all the hard work the PICU team does. However, today we had a very painful and unexpected experience. The nurse in charge today, handled our baby roughly and changed our baby’s nappy in a rushed and unpleasant manner. If she was unable to do this properly, she could have asked us to help. Instead, her behaviour deeply hurt us as parents. Our baby is only 4 months old, and we are always extremely gentle when changing clothes or nappies. We were scared to help because of the tubes attached to our baby, and this is our first experience in the PICU. In such situations, nurses should understand how worried parents are and should speak kindly. Unfortunately, she spoke aggressively in front of us. In all our time at Royal Brompton PICU, we have never experienced behaviour like this. On another occasion, I also saw a PICU nurse in charge caring for another baby in a similar rough manner. At that time, I prayed she would not be assigned to my baby. I want to be clear that this feedback is not about all nurses, but about two or three individuals. Most of the PICU team are truly excellent. I would also like to mention that on the reception side, one nurse spoke to parents aggressively, which was uncomfortable. We share this feedback with respect and love for this hospital. We truly appreciate the work of the PICU team, and we always pray for them. May God give them strength, wisdom, and more knowledge, as they are saving and caring for babies’ and children’s lives. May God also bless their families with health and happiness. We kindly request the PICU team and nurse in charge to please look into these concerns and remind staff to treat babies and parents with gentleness, kindness, and compassion. Parents in the PICU are extremely worried about their babies, and a kind approach makes a big difference. Thank you for your understanding.

Great value for money and understanding staff disbite some confusion. We were really stressed and they stayed calm even when we didn't. Rooms had a mini fridge and a decent shower and TV for the price and location!

Disappointing hospital. Had thoracic surgery here and was astounded by the lack of care and total lack of adequate pain relief. I discharged myself after a week. Never, ever would I allow surgery in this so called hospital. Go to St. George’s in tooting. Far better care there. You have been warned.

You will need to call the hospital to get any sort of update on your loved one after their operation. You will receive no notification of their discharge day or details of the needed after care, they will simply be transported back to you and hope you're there. You'll get one weeks prescription and be expected to organise the rest yourself with a local GP, even if the loved one is bed bound so has no hope of getting to a GP and it's in the middle of Christmas so none are open... Do not expect the staff to be fluent in English or to be able to understand you on the phone when you do call. Good luck.

I have been suffering the after effects from covid since catching it in Dec 2020. After being referred to them, my wife and I fell more relaxed. I had so many issues that I have been told that eventually LC will kill me as my lungs are severely damaged, diaphragm is no longer of any use an a list that goes on. After that day seeing everyone at the Royal Brompton OK may have the same diagnosis but a lot further on than my hospital had given me. I’m already breathing better with a new gadget they have given me to help. We learnt more in a day than the two years being treated at the other hospital.

I had an aortic root replacement redo along with aortic and mitral valve repaired by Mr Rosendahl in July 2021. My stay at the hospital was excellent, I owe alot to the intensive care staff and Mr Rosendahl and his brilliant team. I'm doing very well now and have only good things to say about this hospital.
