   6 of us booked for “Christmas dinner” we were all very disappointed with it all, definitely won’t be returning! The dinner it self were your midweek cheap carvery, with smash potato, frozen roast potatoes and veg! No Christmas day extras to make it feel less basic. The starters came out nearly 1 hour after we were seated, the mozzarella bon bon were burnt and stale like it had been left on a hot plate all day! When I mentioned this to the staff member when she came to clear the plates from the table she said she would mention it to the kitchen but no apology or acknowledgement came back we were just given carvery tickets to go and collect the basic carvery! The bread were stale that came with the prawn cocktail and barely there salmon starters. There was no Christmas music to give it a little Christmas cheer! The whole experience was your midweek carvery day, Very bland and very effortless! Nothing special about this at all, we won’t be returning and definitely won’t be recommending!

   Christmas lunch here what a waste of money. £65 for worst food and atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. No Christmas music on in the pub. The prawn cocktail came on a small plate like you was feeding the dog. Service wasn’t up to much either the woman serving us didn’t know what day of week it. Carvery meh very average wouldn’t pay more than a fiver for it. Like a microwave meal from aldi

   Came for the steak and a drink offer. The food was lovely and there was a friendly atmosphere. The pub is nice and warm. Was served by the ginger landlord. He was very nice and polite! Will definitely be back.

   The Fairway was booked for a private function (funeral wake) and some of the mourners turned up at the venue early only to be met with a untreated and treacherous car park completely covered in solid ice, there was no safe access to and from the premises entrances, The early mourners were also made to wait outside for some twenty minutes even though were staff present inside, in fact one of the staff pointed to there match and said that it did not open until eleven o'clock and made the guests wait in minus temperatures, I find this conduct inhumane as the majority of the person's left out in the cold was of an older generation who have less resilience to the freezing conditions, I feel that if this establishment is open than a save route/pathway should have been cleared in order to gain save access without fear of falling, someone somewhere has a duty of care to safeguard it visiting clientele. When this subject was mentioned to a member of staff it was met with the response “we are not allowed to touch it” So what is apparent here is that it is known that there is a serious slip hazard but nothing is to be done about it, Not great customer relations

   Had the carvery lovely server but the food was tepid. They need to invest in a banmarie to keep the food hot shame because the food was well done. No salt and pepper on table had to go hunting for it. We have arrange to go back on 1st march but think we may have to give it a miss or try food off the menu and skip the carvery. Lovely bar staff so not altogether a disappointment just the food.

   I came to Christmas lunch as I have done for the last 5 years.. Usually its nice which is why we book every year.. This year took a serious downward spiral.. Our service was sub standard to say the least, the food was extremely poor for the money we paid and the queue to the carvery went straight past the end of our UNDRESSED table (Obviously thrown in due to double bookings) . Not only did I have to endure the poor food but had to do so with someone's backside almost in my gravy.. A ray of light for the desert perhaps I told my self.. Not a prayer, late and inedible. Can anyone else who had the toffee apple pudding say otherwise.. Please don't give me the sob story of putting yourselves out for us all on Christmas day because you do it for the money not for the customers.. Why else would you charge £54.00 per head.. I saw a complaint on here boxing day which was rudely answered by someone who was in charge on that day.. Get your self another job love. If your happy to admit to being in charge of a 1 star Christmas lunch then you need to raise you sights.. I see the complaint has now now been removed as they all probably have been. I certainly wont be seeing you again and will not be recommending you.. Please please come back to me so I can properly list the catalogue of errors that occurred..

   We hired the function room for a company party last week. The Fairways team could not have been more helpful. The buffet was plentiful. The DJ was great and played all our requests. We all had a fantastic evening, thank you, we will be back. Jane

   So on Monday I took my young family for tea at Fairways. It was very busy and there were three functions on, however we still got our food in good time. One group from the function room were very loud and boisterous and rude to the staff. They were complaining that they should be allowed longer in a room that they had only paid four hours for. The commotion was very scary for my family and made us very uncomfortable. There must of been over 50 guests all shouting and swearing and being very intimidating. They started filming the pub, staff and customers. I wasn’t happy having my child recorded on someone’s mobile phone. When another customer told them they should leave they wanted to fight with him. It was disgraceful behaviour and they were attending a funeral wake. No respect for anyone. They moved in to the pub gardens and were behaving in a very loud and aggressive manor. A local charity singing group arrived to go in the room that the wake guests were refusing to leave. They were very intimidated and left the premises. I felt so sorry for them and wouldn’t of been happy had it been my event ruined. My family quickly ate our meals and left, sadly no time for desert or to enjoy our meal in what is usually a family friendly environment. Not at all what we would of expected on a Monday afternoon. We will return again as we actually enjoy this pub, staff are friendly and food is great. Let’s hope they get rid of the riffraff that presented itself on Monday.
