Absolutely brilliant from the booking (Cheryl) to the double checking of our needs (Cheryl and Habib), which included a wheelchair user to the pick up and return on a very, very foggy night - thank you Habib! Angela and grateful family

THEY TRY TO OVERCHARGE YOU IF THEY THINK YOU ARE DRUNK, AND IT'S HAPPENED REPEATEDLY. Edited to reply: How many people phoned up to complain in that 1 night about being overcharged by drivers that you can't find which booking this 1 was? Are you telling me you aren't logging all your fares to know seeing as I rang just as he was dropped off as the staff were clearly made aware of? How many complaints do you get regarding drivers overcharging that staff know not to bother telling you any more? Your staff know the details, the driver overcharged, the time of the call and which fare it was but chose not to tell you and you've chosen not to ask them but instead want me to tell you and your staff again, why? What a very strange apology and acknowledgement of how your staff have treated myself and my son. Maybe you should start by investigating why your staff haven't passed on a serious complaint about a driver. I did 100% provide details of the booking when I phoned the taxi rank and was abused by your staff, I see no way of contacting you other than phoning the rank and being abused yet again. When I phoned the office to tell them about the drivers doing this, they tried to make out I was confusing them with Ace Taxis because there are so many Wakefield taxi ranks around at the top of Wakefield Westgate, down the side street. When they asked me if it was the Wakefield cars near the pie shop and I said yes, they told me I was wrong and that's Ace Taxis. Obviously, I guess they should have asked if it was a Wakefield taxi rank near Harry's chip shop or the taxi rank near a closer landmark to something other than the pie shop. The fact I was phoning on behalf of my disabled son and hadn't been out myself, yet the taxi rank was treating me like I was drunk and trying to trip me up instead of accepting the driver was taking advantage of someone they believed to be drunk when he wasn't, was disgusting. I definitely won't be using this place again, and I'll be reporting them Monday as they clearly do this to a lot of people, given how I was spoken to and had these excuses made and blame shifted onto the victim instead of the issues addressed and the driver even mentioned. The fact they know they picked my son up from his address and dropped him back off at his address yet want to try to argue with me about whether I'm confused about which taxi rank was used, is pathetic. Maybe it's your employees who are under the influence of something if they don't know where the taxi rank is, how many of your taxi ranks are at the top of town, how much a taxi should cost and which Wakefield Taxis rank is near the pie shop, because the way he went on about food shops, he clearly had the munchies!

A week ago I lost my phone in a taxi while returning from a party, but when I called the driver the next day, he answered and said he found it and would leave it in the office, and that's what happened. Thank you very much for your service. You're a good person. Thank you for sure. Now I know that I'm going with this company. I'm not worried about anything because they're honest.

Our company has been using Wakefield & Abbey Cars for several months, and the service has been excellent. The drivers are polite, professional, and always drive safely. Most especially, Ghul he is such a nice man, very kind and reliable. We are very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them.

After a couple bad experiences from Abbey Car I can now change my opinion about the company. I booked the cab today and the driver (Mr Khan, Car number 209) was one of the most professional drivers I have ever seen. Abbey Cars are lucky to have him in team as a driver.

Pre-booked a taxi for a specific time so I could get to work on time. Taxi didn’t turn up so I called the office who said the taxi driver picked up another passenger and they can’t say how long they’ll be, then hung up on me. No apology. Rude. Go elsewhere.

Ordered cab. Came on time, which was good. Only thing was when conformation of order came it said pay cash or card. With this didn't go to cash machine. Once home driver said he didn't have a card facility. Luckily had some cash in the house to pay with. Don't trust what you're sent by firm. Carry some cash.

I always use this taxi firm and yesterday the taxi driver went above and beyond their normal good service. I went to a medical appointment at 6.30pm so it was dark and it was in the middle of nowhere, he was concerned about my welfare and leaving me there so waited for me so I didn’t have to wait in the dark for transport home. I think that was kind especially when I had the appointment on my mind. I think that is thinking about the safety of the customer which is great. Thank you very much for making me feel safe.
