I have stayed at Novotel Manchester Centre twice, and unfortunately this will probably be my last visit. Despite its fantastic central location, the hotel no longer meets the standards one would expect from a four-star property β especially considering how high the room rates are. The overall cleanliness and room maintenance are disappointing. In our room there were visible stains on the carpet, a scorched desk surface, and worn, chipped furniture, all giving the impression of a tired and neglected interior. The bathroom sink was particularly poorly designed β so shallow and impractical that it was difficult even to wash hands properly, not to mention filling the electric kettle. Room servicing was inconsistent. On several occasions, housekeeping simply did not show up at all, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Another frustrating issue was with the room key cards. They demagnetise very easily and had to be replaced multiple times at reception. What made it even more annoying was that issuing a new card often deactivated the other cards at the same time, causing repeated inconvenience for both guests sharing the room. Breakfast is another weak point. While adequate in quantity, it is highly monotonous and far from healthy, with almost no fresh vegetables. The offering is dominated by a typical highly processed British breakfast: baked beans, hard-boiled and fried eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, and grilled tomatoes. After a couple of days, it becomes repetitive and uninspiring, especially for guests looking for lighter or more balanced options. To make matters worse, the staff do not seem to pay enough attention to cleanliness in the breakfast area β dirty plates were noticeable, which is quite off-putting. The fitness room is a mixed experience. Itβs good that the hotel offers a gym at all, but the space is very low, making even simple exercises like jumping jacks difficult. Some equipment does not work properly, and the room is poorly lit, which makes training uncomfortable. What makes all of this more frustrating is the price. The hotel is relatively expensive, yet the standard offered is clearly not adequate for the rates charged. In its current condition, the value for money is simply poor. The biggest shame is that this hotel has great potential thanks to its prime location in the heart of Manchester. However, too many compromises in cleanliness, maintenance, service consistency, and food quality significantly detract from the stay. At present, the property feels clearly neglected and does not live up to its four-star label.

Pluses: quiet, comfortable beds and a great location Minuses: expensive and for a 4-star hotel, the rooms are tired and the bathroom grotty. We were only given one pillow each. The room had a a/c and heating unit but we could not get it to go cool enough to sleep comfortably. If it had cost Β£100 less we would have overlooked these issues.

After being let down by another hotel I turned to Novotel Manchester Centre. I was greeted by the extremely helpful Pasquale at reception. I explained my circumstances and Pasquale couldn't do enough to help and reassure me. On a day that was stressful and grey Pasquale really brought the sunshine back for which im thankful. We opted for a family room that was spacious, clean, modern and well laid out. All the staff work really hard in the hotel and are really helpful. This includes the cleaning and room staff. Special mention to Inga and her team who were so helpful and friendly with requests I had. Food and drink in the hotel were also great. The in house restaurant serves great food whatever the time of day. Again some super helpful and hardworking staff here with a mention to Isaac behind the bar. He was friendly and helpful to me and my children. The Novotel brand has always been a reliable and great brand. Im a firm beleiver that brands and hotels are built on their staff. At Novotel Manchester Centre you really have amazing staff who go the extra mile. They are a credit to the hotel and the Novotel brand. Many thanks and myself & my family will be back again soon.

Absolutely brilliant stay as always. We always stay with yourselves at this hotel as the staff are amazing and nothing ever seems to be a problemβ¦. We were treated on arrival from Ibby who remembered us from our previous visits and he could not do enough for us. Every time we stay with yourselves he goes above and beyond to make sure we have the best stay. He creates a really friendly vibe and is an absolute credit to the hotel with his professionalism. Cocktails in the bar were great and breakfast was also really good and we again will choose no other hotel whenever we are in Manchester as we stay in Accor chain wherever we go but this is our standout hotel in any city so thanks again for a wonderful experience

I enjoy the Novotel brand and the Manchester hotel was a good choice. My upgraded room was spacious with good amenities. There was a pleasant seating area, comfy bed and generous bathroom. I do like the room has a fridge and coffee machine. The bathroom shower pressure was excellent and I liked the feature glass wall. The breakfast was high quality and the selection was very good. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Emily made me very welcome for breakfast. I would stay again.

Enjoyed my stay at Novotel - though they had some difficulty in locating my booking. The room were clean and the bed really comfy, bathroom is bright and there are a lot of accessories for personal groom. The bath needs attention as there some mould by the shower tray. It was really peaceful room given we are bang in the city centre. At the breakfast there is a selection of full English as well continental choice, as well as a few vegetarian and vegan option. A good, enjoying stay at Novotel.

Great breakfast and staff. A bit warm at night in the room, but overall, very comfortable and very central. Room service takes a bit long, wasn't my favourite meal, but there are plenty of excellent restaurants around for alternative evening dining. The entertainment hub wasn't easy to fathom, some instructions would have been helpful.

Nice hotel with beautiful rooms in a great location within the city centre, however it could benefit from a bit more attention to detail. I still gave 5 stars but if it was an option I would award four and a half however since that isn't an option I felt it wouldn't be fair to give a lesser score. We were a large party of people staying and some identified issues with dirty carpet, others had shower products with non functional pumps, one had bedsheets not covering the whole bed, also for the class of this hotel, executive rooms would be expected to have fresh milk. The breakfast was really nice and the restaurant staff were very polite, helpful and accommodating, also it was obvious that they took pride in keeping tables clean and hygienic which was very much appreciated. The breakfast and drinks provided were of good quality and met our expectations. Sadly there is no hotel parking.

Had a lovely stay. Great location walking distance to Central Manchester. Breakfast is good, nice staff. Parking is expensive at Q Piazza. Free to park bays 8pm to 8am outside and other cheaper car parks around 10 mins walk

Superb location and still somewhat tucked nicely away from the hustle and bustle of the city nightlife. The competent workforce, from the front office through to the service were a shining example. The breakfast was very good. Good value for money. Recommendable !!
