I've been a landlord with Croft lettings since August 2017. I was a sudden and unexpected landlord after a bereavement and very inexperienced. I found Croft to be very very helpful. Immediately finding excellent tenants. All the tenants I've had have been brilliant. There have been very few issues with the property but they have been dealt with immediately. Croft are very nice to deal with and very pleased I chose them to be my agent. And they do yearly inspections.

A big thank you to the whole Croft Lettings team who recently found me a lovely rental property. Croft are locally based in Glossop, know the area really well and genuinely care about whether the properties they are showing you will fit your needs. I didnβt get the first property I viewed with Croft Lettings but they kept me in mind for their upcoming rental properties and found me somewhere that suited me much more. The team are all lovely and will do their best to respond to any issues quickly. Really helped me during a difficult 3 month period of flat hunting! :)

I can honestly reccomend Croft lettings 100%. All the staff are so approachable and helpful. After my first chat with them telling them what my housing needs were they took the time to seek out properties in my price range and allowed me to view a good selection without me feeling pressured until i found the perfect place for me. As a former tenant, I would not recommend renting a property from Croft Lettings. Their team consists of friendly people, but that is sadly just about all I can give them credit for. Whether it was down to our landlord, our letting agent, or a combination of the two, we did not feel that issues with the property were sufficiently dealt with throughout our tenancy. They were noted at each inspection, but from our perspective, that seemed to be all that happenedβnothing felt like it was being actioned with much urgency. Additionally, their opening hours are not a traditional 9-5 like most other businesses, so chasing for information on matters such as these was often a painfully slow process. When vacating the property, we felt that we had cleaned to a professional standard, as requested, albeit with exception of the oven. We were told that the property was not clean enough, and that we were going to be charged a potential sum of over Β£100 to rectify and have the whole house cleaned again. This was a figure that was seemingly plucked out of thin air, as when I challenged this and asked for details on their cleaning quote, they magically "managed to secure a cheaper price" and brought this down to a more sensible deduction of Β£70 to clean the oven only. They also tried to pin other issues on us, that we were not responsible for. On top of this, some policies they have just feel like they are designed to create friction from the start of your relationship with themβneeding a guarantor if you are under 25 years old seems a little excessive, and, combined with their awkward opening hours, it was incredibly inconvenient that paperwork had to be signed and completed in person, rather than on an online system like DocuSign. Trying to coordinate four people signing physical paperwork in their office was a real hassle, and that's with people who live in Glossopβif your only eligible guarantor lives in another part of the country, good luck trying to finalise your rental agreement! Lastly, they went seemingly radio silent to us after we agreed on a deposit amount to be returned. I understand that at this point they have very little obligation to us, but it felt a bit rude and lacking in common decency to simply stop talking to us so abruptly, without so much as a 'thanks' of some sort. If you are a prospective Croft Lettings tenant, please, please save your long-term sanity and look elsewhere. I promise you there is an equally lovely property out there somewhere, managed by a letting agent who will look after you.

The team at Croft Lettings have been helping me get a property ready to rent out all summer. The refurb turned into a much bigger job than anyone had anticipated, and David project-managed it all with supreme efficiency, good humour and a truly professional attitude. He was always responsive and solutions-focussed. The agency fees for landlords are really reasonable and, being a local company that focuses only on lettings, they have excellent personal contacts with local tradesmen and get rapid and good service for good prices when anything needs doing. I can't recommend them highly enough and look forward to a long business relationship with them.

Great service and very personal attention from David and his team. Moving from Somerset was a big move for us and most of the agents I contacted either didn't return my calls or even worse let the properties even after travelling 200 miles north! Not David, he understood our requirements and contacted me on a number of occasions to get our letting sorted. I cannot recommend Croft lettings enough - especially if you want a personal, honest and excellent service with clear feedback.

I have nothing but praise for Croft Lettings. A completely professional and efficient organisation from the beginning of my lease to the end of it. I would highly recommend them to person's wanting to rent (they were very helpful throughout). Owners wanting to rent their property (I was thoroughly vetted, inspected during my lease and at the end of it, without it feeling uncomfortable). Big bonus, the property was beautiful!!!
