We went into the store in ellesmere port on Friday morning. We were greeted by a very friendly man behind the counter. I was a bit worried going in as I know its for trade only but our joiner had asked us to pick our floor. I read the reviews on here before hand and it really put me off with people saying they were not friendly. But they really were friendly and very helpful. Thank you

Poor experience overall. We had one of their 'designers' come out the design a kitchen for us, which we subsequently went in to choose. As we started nearing the point of finalising, there was a pressure sell of £100 discount if it all go delivered to us within a week - our kitchen wasn't getting fitted until nearly 2 months on. My wife paid for this which i then had refunded as i wasn't willing to store and potentially damage the kitchen for 2 months! Following this we went with their recommended kitchen fitter who came out to give us a price. We went with the one they directly recommended after seeing 2 of their fitters. The kitchen was delivered and then the day before the fitter was due for arrival he text my wife letting her know that a completely different person would be coming to fit the kitchen the next day. We moved on through this and towards the end of the kitchen we realised that items were missing from our delivery. Along with this the fitter let us know that the way its been designed there was a dip in the breakfast bar and the solution (which wasn't a solution really) was to put a 3rd pole in. We said we didn't want this as we wouldn't be able to get the stools underneath and this was followed by telling us to ring howdens. Speaking to the 'designer' he told me that "we are just supplying the kitchen we don't fit it". When i got home i noticed that the 2 poles that had been fitted were my old scratched poles. I rang howdens and tried to speak to our designer again - he again wasn't available and another member of staff nicely came and brought the new poles around. Since then, there were a few issues with the kitchen such as the worktop bubbling within a week etc. The fitter was poor in dealing with these (maybe its because he didn't actually fit the kitchen?) and i've still not heard back from my calls to howdens from over a month ago. Kitchen quality isn't too bad, i'd avoid using their fitters, find your own. I'd also avoid their worktops as they clearly aren't very durable.

Howdens Ellesmere Port is the worst branch of Howdens I have ever dealt with and should be closed ASAP. I work with Nationwide fit out contractors commercially and the level of incompetence is alarming at this branch. Simon - worst kitchen design I have ever seen, lacking dimms, and information on units, type of fixings, white goods, simply no design effort at all, order placed with Magnet. Doors - Purchased through Lee Whilton King "Kings Joinery & Building Services" I sacked this cow boy, for flooding my house, not testing drains, since employed a new Builder who is spending time carefully correcting all of the snags some of which was to re-fit door frames correctly and swapping over doors for correct size doors to meet frames. I have recently purchased hundreds of pounds of materials (30.11.22) for my joiner to be contacted and advised the materials had not been paid for, so I paid for them again (08.12.22), whilst checking with the bank they had in fact had the payment all along, so Bradley kindly credited me back (03.01.23). Though they then also credited the new joiners account also, this branch needs a manager who can manage people, end users and trade accounts with better communication skills, and a technical team that know how to produce better proposed drawings and detailed plans/information. I do not like complaining, though this is justified, pure chaos at this branch needs to be resolved. Note to new readers, Bromborough, and Mold Branch is like dealing with a different company, a breath of fresh air!

If you are not a tradesman that’s matey with the staff, don’t bother with this place. They consistently ignore members of the public whilst they spend forever dealing with their mates or just plain pretend to be busy. Worst customer service experience ever!
