   Great little cinema which is made especially enjoyable by the little introduction that the staff do on each film, giving a little insight into how it was made, or other films the director has made. The place is welcoming to everyone, and when my partner and I went to watch The Handmaiden, there were a wide variety of people in the audience, which is always good to see.

   Unfortunately, like many indie cinemas in the UK, it feels as though the actual cinema experience comes last on the list of priorities. The seating was uncomfortable and not even staggered, so the view was often blocked. There were no cup holders or tables, leading to constant interruptions as guests dropped glasses and spilled drinks. Staff were dealing with plates and glassware behind what seemed to be a thin plywood divider, creating a irritating background of clanking throughout the film, completely unacceptable. And to top it off, the water carafe at the bar had a broken spout, something that apparently couldn't be replaced? I can appreciate the effort that’s gone into the bar and the friendliness of the staff, but come on guys, a bit of basic logic would go a long way toward fixing 99% of these problems. I’m honestly surprised management has overlooked them in the first place. I don't mean to be rude, but it feels a bit insulting to assume us guests will forgive such a poor viewing experience just because there’s a trendy vegan bar attached. So unfortunately that is very frustrating for me.

   Great little cinema, the 4K upgrade was great and done really well. Only thing is it was a little cold so wear something warm, or a couple of layers. Drinks selection was really good too, and not overpriced (lovely spiced rum)

   Chapeltown is a fantastic venue in the brilliant GRUB complex on the edge of the city centre. It has a unique, independent schedule of film and TV series showings (I went to see Garth Marenghi from beginning to end). There's a welcoming old-school cinema atmosphere and the seats are very comfortable. You can bring in drinks from GRUB during screenings, so you have a great selection of hot drinks and beers. Fantastic venue, will keep coming. Thanks guys!

   This is the 2nd time I have been here, but this time was for the MAGL event that happens once a month. This was our first time attending this gaming event and me and 3 friends had an amazing time. The host was great, the game selection was varied. It felt like a real competition with a casual and chilled vibe. Our team, LameBoy Advance, finished 2nd which isn't bad for our first time. We have already booked in for next months event and hopefully we come first. 10/10 would fully recommend signing up if you have 3 friends and have a passion for gaming.

   Fantastic little cinema located above Grub, staff are really friendly, great choice of drinks and picture/sound quality is top notch and exceeding expectations. Love that all screenings are subtitled too, that is massively appreciated.
