Disappointing that having spoken to the managing director (Paul Targett) over FOUR WEEKS ago expressing concerns and disbelief at the appalling ancient rickety mini bus sent to pick us up. Floor was metal, clearly for wheelchair access, one ancient bench for three persons and three pull down seats (completely incased if gaffer tape). Two people picked up in Bromley Cross and then unbelievably a further two in Radcliffe. Most uncomfortable and disturbing journey lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Customer safety - insurance implications?? Comfort seems a low priority considering that the courtesy of a reply does not seem to matter. Returning from Somerset at 9am, arrival back at drop off point teatime. Await another 50 minutes for transport and told that this was a very regular occurrence. Brochure quote from managing director βthe Ellen Smith treatmentβ quite ironic.

Just come back from Cornwall, the Rosemundy Hotel in St Agnes, fabulous Hotel & Staff, tours were good with the exception of two, Eden Project Co ach Park too high up with no transport to or from the bottom when we went & its very steep for people with walking problems, & Lost Gardens of Heligan all the flowering plants had died off no colour at all in September so nothing to look at a total waste, need to change them Two Trips.

Just returned from the Eastbourne trip and must say it was excellent The hotel was in an excellent position and the food was very good. Our driver was Darren and he did a fantastic job dealing with many road problems, also very amiable and helpful The trips were good, especially Hever Castle, Rye and Battle okay and the train ride was lovely despite the rain However Alfriston was a waste of time,a few people went into the village and only visited the cafe and majority stayed on the coach , nothing there and too early in the day for any life.A longer time in Brighton would have been preferable as there is so much to see and do there. The home to home service is a winner every time Looking forward to your 2026 brochure so I can choose another break From Debra Hulme

This was our first time using Ellen Smith Coach Company and I have to say they were 5 star. From the punctual pick up at our home to the return journey everything was first class. Our driver Yvonne was wonderful and went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect for us. She was a careful and skilled driver. Despite us sitting at the back of the coach the journey was so smooth and you hardly knew you were moving. This was down to her excellent driving skills. The hotel The Royal York and Faulkner was also first class and this was obvious from the extremely efficient and quick way we were all checked in. This hotel prides itself in dedication and attention to detail to ensure that an atmosphere of relaxation and friendliness pervades. The hotel enjoys an unrivalled position on the sea front at Sidmouth and minutes walk from the beautiful town centre. What a superb holiday. Definitely will be returning with Ellen Smith. Thank you for a great holiday.

Just returned from tour to Buckletree Hall Hotel. The hotel itself was ok but for a few niggles. The food was not clever Christmas dinner was not up to the standard it should be and we did not have a gala dinner as was advertised it was cold ham with parsley sauce and vegetables and could have been warmer. Service was slow. Bar service was not the best no ice for the drinks or ice bucket for the wine. On the day off leaving there was no actual porterage. The entertainment was a bonus if only for a hour. The hotel had no walk-in showers but as a bonus to me had a step and extra grab rails to enter the bath. Would not want to return to this hotel. The driver Alan on this tour was brilliant. Regards David Whitham

Tried to put a comment on the webpage but had problems with my email address of all things. I certainly would not travel with any other Company, from staff in the office, drivers worth their weight in gold, hotels with staff doing their utmost to make everyone get the best out of their trip really canβt fault anything. In fact 1 more trip to Bristol in December and 5, up to now, to look forward to next year. Also met some great new friends on 2021 holidays whom I have shared some trips with, including the one to come in December and some of my 2023 trips. Certainly canβt fault anything at all when talking about Ellen Smith and holidays taken so far.

Fabulous service from start to finish from the taxi at the start and end of our holiday to our driver Richard who was so pleasant and went out of his way for us. Hotel was lovely too, very comfortable rooms, great food. Would highly recommend Ellen Smith Tours.
