I've been using this pharmacy for a number of years. Over the last 12 months, the service has continued to decline; the opening and closing times seem to change without warning, the telephone is never answered and the turn around time for prescriptions is unacceptably slow. I recently arrived 48 hours after my prescription to find that it had not even been looked at and that one item needed to be ordered in. This prescription ended up taking a week from them receiving it electronically to my prescription being ready to collect. I suspect this would have been even longer if I hadn't turned up to prompt them. Today, I arrived at Tesco pharmacy, straight from my GP, to find no customers waiting. Despite this, the assistant immediately asked me if I could come back tomorrow instead, without even checking what my prescription was for, if the item needed to be ordered in or, even if it was urgent. When I said I wasn't happy to try another day, the assistant went to the computer to put my prescription back on the spine and told me to try elsewhere! I immediately went across to Boots and had my prescription processed within 10 minutes. Needless to say, following multiple consecutive poor experiences at this pharmacy, I would not recommend them to anyone.

No one answers the phone. When you go to pick up the prescription, you are told it will take 30 mins. Poor service

Absolutely disgusting service, shameful. My partner and I were given a prescription for dairy free formula for my 3 month old baby. This was packaged up with out the scoop so we addressed it and they refused to put it right as in their word 'tesco would lose money, it's not our fault it's the manufacturer, you'll need to get another prescription' Add to that they partner had to stay there for an hour. And it's a Friday and we have a very uncomfortable crying baby. What about your duty of care and health!! DISGRACEFUL. DO BETTER.

Dear Tesco Customer Services, Iβm writing to make a complaint about the poor service I received today (30th July) at around 3:00 PM at your Walkden Pharmacy. I came in to get my blood pressure checked, as advised by my GP, who confirmed Tesco Walkden is on the list of pharmacies that provide this service is they prescribe me the medication However, the staff refused to help and wrongly told me I had to be over 40. When I explained my situation a told they what my GP told me I was met with rude and dismissive behaviour. I later contacted my doctor, who apologised and confirmed the pharmacy should have carried out with this service. Iβm disappointed with the lack of knowledge and poor customer service shown by staff. Then went to boots pharmacy walkden and explained my situation to them and did my blood pressure for me straight away and got my medication sorted out for me within 10 minutes. I told the staff about my experience and Tesco walkden pharmacy and they informed my that a lot of there customers have had similar experiences at walkden Tesco pharmacy this need to be looked into properly! Absolutely regret switching to this pharmacy as my nominated one for repeat prescription. Queued in line for 15-20 mins to be told that they definitely have the item but the pharmacist had to have a 30 min break so it was up to me if I wanted to stick around and do shopping. Even though the prescription was ordered the day before! Thought I'd give it a day so that it would be ready for collection, wrong! Only one woman working on the tills and a chap in the back who seems to be filling prescriptions but not the pharmacist. And after walking around Tesco for 20 mins, headed back to the prescription to overhear the staff on the till still telling new customers that it'll be a half hour because the Pharmacist is on break. So is it a 30 min or 60 min break? Woman on the tills seemed nice enough but this is ridiculous, clearly there needs to be proper management. How do you have one Pharmacist is Tescos largest store?? The total wait time ended up being 1hr 15mins for something that simply needed to be taken off the shelf. A joke! I would highly advise against this Tesco Pharmacy, probably better off at the Boots arocrss the way.

im very upset with this pharmacy, my son has just come out of hospital and was given the wrong antibiotics (he was given an old prescription from a month ago), therefore he was on the wrong medication for more than a day and if it wasnt for his gp practice asking how he was doing and informing me of the error he could have possibly ended up back in hospital, they also informed me that the prescription had gone over at the time the incorrect one was collected by my wife and all they needed to do was check the eps system, the manager (nafees) didnt wish to give his name at first when asked and didnt want to take any responsibility for the error and was quite argumentative, most of the staff are fantastic but when something like this happens and it involves your child its very distressing

Very poor service, when queues form they need to increase the staff at the tills. Waiting 15 mins to be served is too long in todayβs society.

The staff are lovely at this pharmacy, They are always sorting out the mistakes and problem's my doctors cause with my regular medication, They are polite well spoken and no matter what your problem is they go out of there way to help they always answer the phone and are more than helpful x
