10/10 hospitality, 10/10 atmosphere, 10/10 food and coffee. UK institution in the beautiful meandering side streets of Hoole. Perfect stop after a long drive with a hungry family and need for caffeine.

I was really disappointed with my visit. I had come once before and really enjoyed it so came again this time with my partner. Ordered poached eggs on sour dough and when they came the eggs were pretty much boiled so not runny at all and the spur dough toast crust was so solid you could not cut through it! We waited for our cakes which never came to I went up and was told they would being them over. One cake came so went up again and they apologised asked what cake it was and when they came it was the wrong cake!

We were passing through Chester and stopped here for breakfast. Honestly one of the best veggie breakfasts we've had - everything was seasoned to perfection. Good coffee too. Staff so friendly, lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Very busy cafe with it's own unique vibe. There is a great selection of tasty homemade cakes. If you want something more healthy, the lunch menu is just as good. It can get very busy at lunchtime, which is a sign they are doing something right. There is a large seating area with tables in the room to the left, or else the stools and window seats by the counter are good for those just popping in for a quick drink. In better weather, they have tables outside, where you can be part of the Hoole street scene!

What a lush place. They where so kind and friendly! Super helpful and had gluten free options so I was very happy about. They helped with the pram and got us a table no problem. Definitely going back. ✌️

It won’t let me give more then 5 stars. The best latte around. Fun atmosphere with incredibly friendly/helpful staff and the food always hits the spot particularly the sausage halloumi cranberry and rocket on sourdough :)

I was at the Chester railway station, with an hour before my train left. This place looked promising, so why not give it a try? It was about a 24min brisk walk - round trip - to the Little Yellow Pig. Took me about 20min total to order, be served, and eat. Plenty of time to make my train. Your results may vary. Staff were very welcoming. Nice and quiet inside, which is always nice during breakfast. I got the open faced salmon, egg, spinach and chili flake sandwich on sourdough. It was delicious.
