I was really surprised to find that on one of the busiest days, Sunday, half of the self-service tills were closed. These tills were introduced with the promise of speeding up the checkout process, especially with fewer staff around. However, when they're not in operation during peak times, it defeats the purpose and only leads to longer queues. It’s frustrating to see the technology not being fully utilized, particularly when it’s meant to improve service.

Really unsympathetic customer service. Arrived early morning for some urgent grocery run. I had my son with me who was unwell and we were heading back from urgent treatment centre. My car battery broke down and my husband dropped us to keep driving it around. I forgot my bag in the car with the money n phone. The cutomer service keep sending me back and forth also to the tesco mobile area that the only way we can help u is to call from their landline. While the lady there was so rude despite telling her that the customer service has sent me. She said I am not obliged to help you. Finally,a kind muslim woma. who was observing me going back and forth helped me make a min call to my husband so that we know where to fund each other. If i wad in their place i would have just offered them a call from my phone. Everyone has free minutes on mobile in UK but today I learnt that simple empathy or courtesy is so hard to find.

Awful customer service, I went in the store with my boyfriend for some things for dinner today at 18:20 and as I went to the cash or card self checkout at 18:25, I was approached by a girl who asked me “are you paying by card?” I said “yes” and thought that was it yet to my surprise she gave a dirty look to my boyfriend and to her colleagues about me straight after that interaction which I’m assuming was caught on cctv camera If you don’t like your job… leave but don’t give customers attitude and have a face on you Unbelievable

Tesco Extra supermarket is located at 46 New Square, West Bromwich, B70 7PR, and I must say it is an excellent shopping experience. The supermarket is conveniently situated in the heart of West Bromwich, making it easily accessible to locals and visitors alike. One of the standout features of this supermarket is its wide range of products, which includes fresh food, frozen food, bakery items, a Halal section, and an Indian section. The wine and spirits section is also well-stocked, offering plenty of choices for customers. The store's layout is well-organized, making it easy to navigate and find what you're looking for. The supermarket offers a free car park for patrons who spend at least £5, with the first 15 minutes of parking free of charge. This is a great incentive, especially for those who just need to pop in and out. You are advised to read the parking signs carefully and ensure you check out of the carpark in accordance with the rules. The parking ticket is in the region of seventy pounds, so please double check The loyalty card program is also a great feature, offering big discounts throughout the year. I've found that it's definitely worth signing up for, as the savings can add up quickly. The staff at the supermarket are generally friendly and helpful, with a good number of employees available to assist with any questions or concerns. However, I did notice that there are fewer counter staff than before, as some checkout lanes have been replaced with automated robots. While I understand the efficiency benefits of this technology, I do miss the personal touch and interaction with human staff. Overall, I had a great experience shopping at this supermarket. The wide range of products, convenient location, and loyalty program make it a great choice for anyone in the West Bromwich area. While the reduction in counter staff is a drawback, it's not enough to detract from the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend this supermarket to others and will continue to shop here myself.

Came here for a delivery driver interview. Gave my cat registration clearly to the old lady at the customer service till only to have a fine posted out. Rang the store to get it sorted only to be spoken to a rude employee. I'd definitely avoid

Partner brought the wrong hair cutter by accident. Took it back unopened with receipt, only wanted to exchange for the one I wanted and was told no can only exchange for the same one. First time we used Tesco as we normally go Asda who have a brilliant return policy. Will never go here again especially after the attitude and foul language that they used towards my partner who was only trying to explain the situation. Glad it was only a small item and not something expensive. Avoid if your buying goods, especially Xmas presents as sometimes you end up having to take them back.

Hi just had an online delivery which was a bit late but driver told me it was due to traffic collision in Moseley! Driver was a great guy who helped me to bag my goods. He was cheerful and friendly and a breath of fresh air! I would give him 5 stars out of 5, brilliant!

The customer toilets are precisely 107 strides from the cafe where I was drinking a coffee before getting up to use the bathroom. I looked around the cafe, where you would expect the toilets to be and in other store are near the cafe, but they were nowhere to be found. Had to ask a member of staff and do a 100 metre dash across the length of the shop. Not ideal.

Massive superstore which is the focal point of the shopping centre it sits in. It's got good extended opening hours, so you can find quieter times to shop. Recommend avoiding during peak hours, especially on a weekend afternoon. I know you'll read this and think that's the same for any supermarket, but trust me, this place is another level. It turns into hell on earth. (My photos were taken at around 10:30pm on a Friday after catching a movie at the nearby cinema). I have previously (on more than one occasion) witnessed people lurking by the reduced items shelf and then fighting each other when the staff bring out the items to put on there. It was honestly like being at the zoo. For such a huge store, it can let you down by not stocking certain items or brands that you expect to be common, but it has most things. It's also one of the more reasonably priced big supermarkets in my opinion. A couple of times, I've engaged the staff to help me find something that's not on the shelf, they've gone above and beyond to help. Shopping here since it opened 9 years ago, always experienced satisfactory to brilliant customer service. If you spend over £5 in here, you get a parking voucher that covers 2 hours of parking for free (you may have to ask for it). Parking is free after 6pm, and all day Sunday.
