   A lovely canal side pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a cold and rainy night when we visited but opening the door to this pub with its traditional decor and wood fired ambience made us forget all about the weather conditions. The service was intentional and speedy, menu extensive with something for everyone and they are more than happy to welcome your dogs into the warmth. Food was nothing short of fantastic, everything we ordered was delicious. The fish and chips looked like it was a popular choice but if you’re feeling something else they certainly have it covered. If you’re ever in Lathom give The Ship some of your time and attention - you will not regret it.

   From arriving to departing, everything was lovely. It was very busy today - both in the bar and the food sides -but non the less the service was excellent. Both menus had some good alternatives to the usual "pub and this could be looked at as a gastro pub, really ! Bit slower service - but good food takes time - so if you're in for a quick bite-this may not be for you ! Can't faunt the quantity or quality of either of the courses ! Will be back again soon . Easy to recommend here

   Brilliant stopover in our campervan. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we enquired. Lovely chatty staff who were working really hard to attend to everyone (it was rammed at 13.00 on a Tuesday!). Food was super, great selection of local real ales. Well done on a beautiful, warm and welcoming pub. How hospitality should be❤️

   Great food and beer. Lots of seating indoors and out. Staff very nice and helpful. Food good value and plenty of it. The fish of the day was superb. The sausages are excellent. The desserts are amazing.
