Went here today as Pippins Corner wasn’t serving. We don’t live in Liverpool and were over visiting and popped down Lark Lane for food. It was disappointing to say the least…. The fish finger butty was very underwhelming and probably the worst I’ve had. The bread was as dry as a bone. We had to ask for butter as the top slice was so dry and placed there with wilted lettuce and very cheap tasting fish fingers that were a bit burnt. The worst part was the so called tartar sauce which tasted of salad cream. It was so salty and vinegary that I asked the staff member if it was actually salad cream. There was supposed to be mushy peas with it but they didn’t appear and we couldn’t be bothered asking. We were starving and ate the chips and a bit of the sandwich but it was pretty grim. The staff member who served us was very pleasant and I did my best to pretend the food was ok, as I didn’t want to be rude to the nice staff member who served us but I really wouldn’t return again. This place wouldn’t last two mins in my village of Stockton Heath as we have quality eateries here.

Went today 01/10/2025 there are so many places to eat on Lark Lane, think I may have found My favourite place , ate atsny establishments down there, had many recommendations from family and friends, the food was excellent, prices are great, the thing that stood out today was the waitress that we had , " Louise " when we got there and We were seated very quickly, We were waiting on a friend, was a bit chaotic someone had to take a call , Louise was very attentive, by the time we'd settled down the place was starting to fill up , We thought We would be waiting for ages for food etc, not the case, whatever You are paying that girl, it isn't enough, what an absolute star , Thank You, We will be back,

I booked lunch here as the last time I called in the place was packed out. It was a good choice though as we got a table by the conservatory doors with a nice breeze on a very hot day. A lot of thought has gone into the layout of the building and it has a great light and airy feeling with all the sliding doors open. We ordered chicken wings and the charcuterie board. The wait wasn't too long. The chicken wings had a nice hot sauce on them and were delicious. The board had a good selection of meat and cheese and was enough for a main meal. They had a good selection of beers and wines and we found the staff to be quite attentive. Mind you this was at lunchtime and it was fairly quiet, of an evening the place can be quite busy.

We came here for Tea on sunny Lark lane.We were quickly served by a bubbly blonde waitress firstly we ordered drink drinks which consisted of two cokes and two pints of a peach tasting IPA called Jubel. We then ordered our food which was two smashed burgers with chips lasagne with side salad and garlic bread and a massaman chicken curry with coconut rice and a poppadom. The food came quickly well presented I had the chicken massaman curry which I highly recommend if you haven't tried it before as it is really fragrant

Gorgeous place and perfect to sit outside on sunny days. Staff were attentive and friendly, food and drinks were served promptly... We ordered a sharing cheeseboard which didn't look like much when it came but actually was perfect for 2 if only wanting a light bite and one of the chutneys was amazing. Located in a beautiful area on a busy street full of cute and quaint shops, bars and restraunts but The Old School House is definitely one to visit and heard the Sunday roast is amazing so we'll be back to sample that soon :-)

Delicious food, friendly service, good prices, beautiful location & interior! For awareness, pizza and mains do come from different kitchens so may arrive at different times, but they do tell you this when ordering. Will definitely be back!

Staff were really friendly, service was prompt, and the setting was great - love the way the restaurant looks! Really enjoyed the food, we had pulled duck nachos, Thai curry and a pepperoni pizza, and a side of triple cooked chips. Excellent!
