Very good concept. I'm not into wine personally but it was great to be able to try such a large selection. Good atmosphere and cozy setting. I would recommend this place.
My first visit, and it was a fantastic experience. Really enjoyed speaking with the friendly team (Khal and Esther) and learning from them. Walked out with far more wine than I went in for and a smile on my face! I have quite a few multi day trips to Birmingham coming up and I intend to visit every time from now on, may be with a guest or two in tow…! Bravo and keep up the good work :-)
What a great find, wine vending machines! We spent a couple of hours trying a variety of wines, you can choose from 3 different sizes and just top up your card to use the vending machines. The staff were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I'd definitely head here again when I'm back in Birmingham. If you like wine and a nice place to chill out, give it a try.
I've been coming to Loki for the last 10 years, and it is my favourite venue to go to in Birmingham. Bleak Monday? A glass of wine at Loki will help. Happy Friday? A bottle of Champagne at Loki will make it just better. Their staff are amazing and will always recommend you just the right bottle for the occassion, food pairing and budget. Their wine tasting events are pretty amazing too. The atmosphere is pretty chilled and they always make you feel at home. I even managed to meet my fiance at Loki Wine! What a place! I've recently done a wine course at Loki - WSET, that I really enjoyed too. The only problem is that my wine taste is changing and I tend to prefer more and more expensive wines...
Nice spot and good looking wine bar inside the arcade in Birmingham. Wine selection was OK, not outstanding. One of the white wines I had was a 40 pounds bottle Chardonnay and the wine was vinegar, essentially. I went for an urugauyan albariño which was hardly a pass. Unfortunately, it has the same system as Vagabond which I absolutely hate. You charge a card and with that card you select and go to little dispensers that pour wine. This makes the atmosphere super impersonal, cold and lacking in any kind of human interaction. It cuts opportunities to chat about wines and makes it very clear the place is only there for profit and not really for customer experience. The card is a trap for them to keep change and pounds you don't use. A shame.
Cheeky little spot in the arcade, quite small and cosy downstairs, bit more spacious and busy upstairs. We loaded a card up with £20 each and you just sample what you fancy from the wines on offer. Alternatively you can buy the bottle and they have various whiskey's and gin's etc. The charcuterie board and cheese boar were excellent so would definitely recommend them with your wine tasting.
Fantastic venues - amazing selection of wines & spirits. Very well educated & friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere, very relaxed. Great for a casual drink by the glass or bottles! The tastings are a real treat and very informative. They also do Various WSET courses here which having been through myself i can highly recommend. My favourite place in town! If you haven't been you should!
This place is a hidden gem of Birmingham! We visited when it was a little quieter to check out Loki. The owner was so helpful in describing his personal favourite wines to sample, and he pulled out a very nice selection. We loaded our card and sampled all the recommended wines. We were very impressed with the wines and the concept! We chose our favourite sample and purchased a glass to enjoy with a very nice cheese board. We're absolutely coming back!
