⭐ Exceptional Dining and Home from Home Ousia has become my weekly Friday dine out! With its friendly, caring and welcoming atmosphere. Its a home from home. The Ousia team are outstandingβ€”attentive without being intrusive. Knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations that turn out to be spot-on. They care! As for the food - absolutely phenomenal! Every dish is beautifully presented and delicious. You can tell the chef here truly cares about quality, taste and creativity. The ingredients taste incredibly fresh, and the flavors are balanced in a way that shows real culinary skill. I look forward to the specials, every week. The desserts are home made. I always feel like I'm on holiday when I come here. Overall, this restaurant delivers on every front: ambiance, service, and exceptional food. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommended!

Review of Ousia - November 5, 2025 On Wednesday night, we walked into Ousia and requested a table for two, along with our dog, Phoebe. Ousia has always been a dog-friendly restaurant, and Phoebe stole the show from the start! We were greeted by the lovely staff and seated in the middle of the restaurant. My partner suggested we try some dishes we don’t usually order: Falafel: Crispy on the outside, cooked through with a hummus base. Tabbouleh: We had olive oil, vinegar, and lemon on the table, which Sarah (who is Lebanese) used to dress the tabbouleh generously. Tarama: Creamy, full of flavour, and delicious as always. The Ousia tarama is in my top three worldwide: Ousia, Muswell Hill Taverna 37 - Four Seasons, Athens Krabo, Thespidos, Vouliagmeni For my main dish, I had the pork souvlaki with the 'double up Ousia' option, served with chips and a village salad. The pork was tender and full of flavour. The chef has switched to a pork loin cut, which is not the usual neck/shoulder, but I actually preferred it! Sarah ordered the sirloin steak special; however, next time we will definitely go for the pork chop 'brisola' special, which was sold outβ€”can you believe it? The night was capped off with a view of the annual Fortismere Fireworks, a zivania shot courtesy of the manager, and three satisfied customers.

Authentic, well cooked food! We tried a lot of dishes from the menu and i can say that the ingredients used and the quality of everything is amazing. We met the owner who is a lovely person and told us that most of the veg used are homegrown. Courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs all from his garden. Congratulations to the chef for the delicious dishes, lamb shank and melt in the mouth beef stifado. Hand cut fresh chips, handmade dips and the freshest prawns (must try). The cheese saganaki and the chunky fried haloumi is also a must try. Service was also top notch, servers were kind and attentive. They had a deep knowledge of the menu and all dishes and were very accommodating. This restaurant is what you are looking for if you want to experience an authentic taste of greek cypriot cuisine. You cannot find this easily in London.

Disappointing food! Is ridiculous to read the reviews from 2 years ago and find that instead of improving and changing they just prefer to be defensive and rude. Back to the experience. Service was great unfortunately the food was a massive disappointment. 1. Taramasalata was unseasoned and had a creamy taste instead of a tangy and sour I tried it everywhere else (including Greece) 2. Falafel uncooked in the middle 3. Tabouli salad unseasoned, just chopped vegetables with an overcooked bulgur. 4. Beef sausage overcooked, rock hard 5. Chicken skewers bland , unseasoned un marinated just bland meat. 6. Lamb shank just floating in fat , bland. Potatoes that came with it was refrigerated (not from today) had a very strong starch taste that happens if you refrigerate potatoes and reheat them another day. Only one meal we enjoyed was the halloumi . Chips was fine for me, home made style potatoes. Instead of replying defensive maybe you should change the chef and try to improve the customers experience . Restaurant was empty for a Friday evening and that says something!!!

First time at Ousia celebrating a birthday with my family & we were really impressed. The service from our waitress & the managers was exceptional (particularly Constantino) who could not do enough for us. A welcome change from many other local restaurants. The small plates concept was great & the food was well presented, fresh with a great flavours. We will definitely be coming back & I really would recommend Ousia as the best greek restaurant in the area.

Visited this restaurant off the back of a recommendation from a friend and I will now be recommending this restaurant to others. The service is exceptional, the food is as authentic as Greek food can be with homemade dishes that are full of flavour. The seafood was fresh and the meat was perfectly cooked. Very good prices and we will certainly be returning.

Ousia Restaurant is a truly welcomed addition to the parade on Fortis Green Road. Its long-anticipated opening did not disappoint. I’ve been drawn back to the restaurants fresh Greek cuisine several times and after sampling many of their exquisitely prepared dishes it can’t be faulted. From its warm friendly service of the staff to the delicious reasonably priced meals Ousia restaurant has become a new favourite for myself and my wife.

I visited Ousia Muswell Hill on Saturday 11th Feb, and my experience was faultless. Firstly, the service was really friendly, welcoming and professional. I ordered kleftiko, taramasalata, pitta, courgette frittas and the Greek salad. The food was really fresh and tasty, the authentic Greek flavours were really strong and enticing. Overall, I had a really pleasant experience and I’m definitely looking forward to dining here again!

Very disappointed. Ate there on Saturday 11th Feb as it is newly opened and we thought we would give it a try. Food is very bland and amateur. We had humus which came with a SINGLE pitta for 2 people! The pittas were the cheap kind you can buy anywhere. It would have been nice if they had made their own. We then had courgette fritters which were sliced courgette in a barely there batter and these were watery and unseasoned. Falafel was obviously frozen, bought in and poor. Tasted of nothing. The chicken was literally just a plate of grilled skewers, again no seasoning or flavour. They looked marinaded but the marinade had no flavour. This was just a really boring, bland dish. Rose wine is overpriced at Β£10 a glass. The service was good. I would like the restaurant to do well but they really need to improve on the dishes which look and taste bland and boring and overpriced drinks. Please improve. There used to be a Greek restaurant on this road called okabasi that was amazing and their dishes had colour and flavour. It was so much better! Response to owner's reply: I appreciate your reply, but the over riding point of my review was that your bbq grilled chicken was bland and tasteless when compared to other grills I have had in the past, and this is true whether I compare it to other Greek restaurants or Turkish. Chicken is a staple food of many cuisines so to offer up the excuse that your chicken is more tasteless meaning your chef is more skilled, and your food more authentically Greek is a strange argument to make. Your reference to your " neutral marinade" sounds especially unappetising. If the falafel are made in house and are not frozen then i aplologise for my mistake but this just affirms that your chef does not know good flavours or how to season food. Lastly, between my wife and I we ate half the chicken and were offered a doggy bag to take the rest home, but turned down this offer. I do wish you well as i love good Greek food and, but the food is bland and tasteless and you need to address this with your chef.
