   We honestly can’t thank this restaurant enough for stepping in at such short notice to help make my friend’s wedding day special. They catered for a small last-minute wedding meal with no fuss at all. The food was very reasonably priced and great value for money, but what really stood out was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and everyone was happy. Nothing felt rushed or stressful, and their calm, professional approach made a huge difference on the day. We’re so grateful for their flexibility, kindness, and effort. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great service and a team that genuinely cares.

   Stayed 2 nights in twin room. Rooms lovely and clean tea, coffee, kettle etc. Good location to train and bus station easy walking distance and flat. If your going to Harry Potter studios great location to drive or catch bus. Food in pub was fine, and good value for money. Staff are amazing especially Briony. Would stay again.

   Staying in Watford and not knowing anywhere, a good search brought this up. On the evening we visited they were a little bit forgetful in the kitchen meaning food didn't all come out at the same time, the food it's self was nice and we enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is not the warmest so dress to accommodate this. The staff were all lovely and helpful.

   As a foreigner I love to visit the small-town country pubs and enjoy some traditional English food. This pub is also a hotel and it’s a big ‘city pub’ but it’s certainly worth a visit. Large lounge bar with lots of tables and of course the typical pub area with sports tv and slot machines. Large menu, with some good-value deals happening during the week, especially Thursday. We had the steak and ale pie with mash and peas, which was quite nice. A request for some extra peas was done promptly; thank you! Order food and drinks at the bar. Lovely welcoming staff. I do suggest to renew the menus cards, as they feel old and a bit dirty. And…for a nation that produces amazing beers, why are there not more of those on tap?

   Took my mum, wife and two girls for lunch, was surprised how nice the food was. The pub was quite quiet and the kids were running around whilst waiting. The staff didn’t seem to mind which was nice .
