We go regularly for lunch which is lovely, summer in the garden or winter by the fire. Went today for family Christmas lunch and it was brilliant! Staff were lovely and helpful and food was really good. Great atmosphere and all round wonderful day.

Went here for a work Christmas dinner. We were in an outdoor lodge which was brilliant and allowed us to be noisy without worrying about other patrons and also gave us privacy. Staff were great, very attentive, and the food was impressive given catering for 20+ people with simultaneously food.

We didn't stay at the hotel but visited the restaurant for lunch. The restaurant is pretty outside and nice inside but it was very noisy. We waited an hour for our food and when it did arrive it was disappointing. I had Cumberland sausages and mash with onion gravy. The sausages were hard and the mash wasn't great. I felt like they had been reheated. I also felt that it was very expensive especially as the food was mediocre. I've had better sausage and mash at wetherspoons for half the price and a drink included.

We enjoyed a delicious Sunday Roast at The Black Horse. Everything was perfect, the presentation superb and it was the best Yorkshire pudding I've ever tasted. The team really looked after us and we had a fabulous experience.

My first time at The Black Horse and it was a lovely experience. Staff were attentive and courteous. We all had different dishes which were equally amazing. Great place to eat both inside and out. Iβve already made reservations for two more dates! Highly recommend this place.

Came here for a drink a few weeks ago for the first time, loved the look of the place so went for dinner tonight with the family to try somewhere new as we love a great gastro pub. Firstly we noticed how expensive everything is, Food is way over-priced. Especially crazy prices for minor things - Β£2 to add cheese or bacon to a Β£16-18 burger or Β£8 to add salmon on to a Β£16 salad. Madness really. But, we were all up for trying it, as if itβs great, weβd be happy to pay. If youβre charging Β£12.50 for a starter it better be amazing and whilst our prawn cocktail was decent enough, the squid was basic. Service was SLOW and inattentive and we had to keep asking for service, as they kept forgetting about us. Last straw was getting an uncooked chicken burger, sending it back and then 5 min later our server checking in that everything was okay. Madness. So many of these things are forgiven if proper apologies are made, or managers come to apologise about the fact that youβve eaten a couple of big bites from some uncooked chicken, maybe even try to make it up to you, etc etc. But to charge these prices, take so long and then not acknowledge any of it - itβs awful. Youβd be a bit more forgiving if the prices were more regular. However at those prices itβs blatantly a one star place. Itβs a shame as we thought weβd found a new spot.

I visited this restaurant few years ago for my birthday and once in-between the pandemic. I must say the owners are very rude abruptly and I would not waste any time and money there in the future if I were you. The only good thing about this restaurant were the pleasant waiters not the owners!

Really impressed. We dined as a table of 6 and while there was quite a wait for food, we were given the heads up by our lovely waitress when ordering - which makes the world of difference! The food was delicious, (maybe the best starter I've ever eaten) the wine was lovely, the Guinness was great and the service was fantastic. We all left very happy.
