Love this store helpful friendly staff , lots of clothing ,toys books, electrical, items and furniture well worth a visit if you like a rummage and Preloved items plus it's for charity so what's not to like .
I love this shop so much I'm there every week! All staff are friendly, professional and helpful without exception. Clothes are of a high quality and clean with an excellent variety and affordable prices. I always find something - love the Italian style clothes. Highly recommend a visit. See you on Saturday :)
Been going here for years and it's fine most of the time assuming that people keep donating and that they take quality items. No point in taking items that are broken or poor quality as its work for the staff to sort and at the end of the day it's a charity that needs to raise as much money as possible. You can donate here but check 1st their requirements , like electric items and furniture etc otherwise you might have a trip for nothing. Yes they do deliver for a fee. There is plenty of stock, and Staff are helpful and friendly. Car park free but is patrolled so please don't park there if you are not a customer. May it continue to be there.
I recently visited the YMCA charity shop and had a mixed experience. Upon entering the store, I greeted the two ladies working at the cashier counter. Unfortunately, one of the ladies was very unwelcoming and ignored my greeting, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Her behavior felt unfair and I suspect it might have been racially motivated. This kind of attitude is disappointing and does not reflect well on the values of a charity shop, especially one associated with YMCA. Apart from this incident, the rest of my experience at the store was pleasant. The other staff members were kind and helpful, and the store itself was well-organized with a good selection of items. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure that all customers feel welcome and valued.
It’s an ok charity shop, large, lots of the kids toys weren’t really worth reselling but an ok priced shop
YMCA is a Great place to look for furniture, and Household items including books, dvd, blue ray, cutlery, etc. With a lovely customer Service, ready to make your day better.
We had an entire home to clear following the death of a relative. YMCA Pontefract were able to take a lot of the items, when another charity wanted to charge us £2,800 for the privilege, even though most of it was saleable. YMCA were very professional and made it very clear what items they could and couldn't take and arrived on time to collect. Such a worthy charity and expertly managed.
Fab service!! Bought a sofa and chair from here was a bargain £150 for both in immaculate condition will definitely pop back to find some other bargains! Also got a pair of summer pants for £2 also in brill condition thanks again :)
Very friendly and inviting shop love the atmosphere staff are always polite friendly and helpful. Even if there’s nothing for me on a visit it’s still enjoyable to have a browse and come back again and have a browse and find something I like. Thank you
Good shop with a big collection of products at fair, cheap prices. Usually end up buying a few things everytime I come into this place without fail. Great location and easy parking make it a good place to just have an impromptu visit too. Only let down is the workers. A lot of them seem like they do not want to be there. When being served, I've never been spoken too besides a "Hi" and "Bye", and they all just look at you like they're constantly annoyed at you. Overall its a good place to get a few deals, just don't expect much conversation or help from anyone working there.
