Our mixed table of adults and kids were in one Sunday in November and had the most perfect experience. We were looked after by a wonderful young lady named Evie, who smiled all the way through our indecisive and muddled ordering, and served us warmly and professionally. We were all blown away by our food. And, we will most certainly, be back!
Dropped in for early diner, stayed for a couple of hours. Service was excellent and food piping hot with good size portions. Only negative was fish in fish and chips looked burnt, but was told it was the new batter. Otherwise no complaints.
Recently visited Blue Anchor for lunch with friend. There was a good atmosphere, friendly staff and food was really delicious (the prawn, crab and chorizo papaderlle was mouth watering). Ordered sticky toffee pudding which was a very big portion for one and can be easily split in 2. Service was a bit slow. Would definitely recommend this place but be prepared to wait a bit if its busy.
Hidden gem just off the A217, that I've probably driven by tonnes of times without giving it a second thought. Absolutely great food. All the gastro-pub classics are present but done really really well. Had the Fish & Chips which were generously portioned with very crispy batter, fresh tartare sauce very decent chunky chips. Fantastic service provided by Max and another young man behind the bar. Attentive, without being pushy. Happy to go the extra mile. Very nice decor, wooden panel flooring, comfortable chairs and loads of outdoor seating. Only thing I'd fault would be the loos - they've definitely seen better days. That aside, there's a lot to like about this place. Will definitely return.
Spent last Sunday at the Blue Anchor for their Sunday roast with my elderly parents. Excellent well presented and tasty food and good portions. Staff were really friendly attentive and really looked after us. High end gastro pub with a lovely welcoming atmosphere
Very beautiful gastropub. Food was amazing and the roast dinner looked huge and delicious. Special thanks to Elise for making us feel so welcome. Felt like a great environment for families, couples and friends. Would definitely recommend.
We had fantastic Lunch ! Food and Service was high quality delicious. Very kids friendly. Service 5 Stars and plenty choices on the Menu. Our Waiter Shaun did a great Job. Top We will come back
Last night me and my 3 friends booked a table in pub. We bought a Xmas menu. Table was ready by the time we got there, so we looked at the menu. We ordered the starter. Waitress came and said oh sorry but this and this none left. Ok so picked something else. (She should mention what left what not while we were ready the menu) Main menu same happened. Well, it fine we picked something else again. Myself a hug fun of cramble however it was not good at all.it was not baked properly, my friend dessert was extremely sweet it was not edible.Our deal was included with a chocolate at the end what we never received. We were a bit disappointed, we been here before and we were so pleased but unfortunately not this time. All the waitresses and waiters were really nice and friendly. I know it's a pressure on the whole team in Xmas time, didn't mean to leave a bad review just a heads up. Thank you very much
Really nice meal. The calamari and chipotle chicken starters were fabulous. Sophie, our waitress, was very informative and friendly. The mains were good but the cauliflower wedge was over cooked/too soft. The pork could’ve been crispier. Really nice environment and great service
