We’ve had Christmas lunch at the Rose and Crown many times in the past — four years running before Covid — and always enjoyed it. Sadly, this year was a real disappointment, and it feels as though the pub has lost its way. The staff were lovely, but the food was the worst we’ve had there. Two of us enjoyed the scallop starter, but all three mains were poor: huge portions, nine different items piled onto the plate, yet everything was lukewarm and completely lacking flavour. It felt like an over ambitious menu executed badly, with quantity taking priority over quality. At £105 per person plus service, the bill came to over £300, which made the experience feel like a real waste of money. The manager, Nicki, was kind and refunded one meal, which we appreciated, but it didn’t come close to making up for such a disappointing Christmas lunch.

Thank you so much for a fantastic evening. We were a large group ordering lots of food, we had some late comers and all ordering different amounts of courses. We were catered to fantastically and all with a smile and ‘nothing is too much hassle’ attitude. I would absolutely recommend this pub for both the quality of food and the service. Thanks all for making our evening such fun!

Lovely pub in the heart of Wimbledon Village just off the amazing Wimbledon Common. Very welcoming cosy place. The staff are very friendly and efficient, they make sure the place is well run. The lunch menu steak sandwich is perfection. Good selection of ales and beers

Cool pub, beautifully decorated for the Wimbledon event. It's always lively and busy in the evenings. The staff are kind and friendly, making you feel welcome. And the Guinness is delicious.

Just Superb! Great place to have your Sunday roast -or anything else for that matter. Staff are nice, helpful and simply lovely. The lamb roast I had was amazing. The rest of the party also enjoyed their food -Chicken roast and Burrata - very much. Nice wines and beers and a killer Pimms! Now I understand why you need reservations for this place!

Really tempting and varied menu and portion sizes were good. Fish cake starter was delicious, with the salted beetroot and dukkah wellington was an interesting and filling take on a Sunday roast

Excellent pub open to the general public within the hotel right in the centre of Wimbledon Village. Good selection of beers, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks. It also has a beer garden at the back with on demand heating if you feel cold.

Great pub with front seating and a lovely back garden with heaters and cover. Food is very nice and staff are very friendly and always have a smile. Toilets are kept to a high standard. So well done to the Manager. Will update if changes.

Just got home after a long weekend where we stayed in The Rose & Crown Hotel. Everything was was perfect. Our room was excellent, and the service and food 1st class. We will definitely be back.
