First time visit to the Prince of Wales. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the interiors and garden spaces. We didn't eat this time but the menu offered a great range of dishes. Great service, good range of beers and a welcoming atmosphere. Have since returned several times, and eaten here three times. Excellent food, good service and good wines. I just had to sample the desserts once - delicious! Great, quality venue in East Barnet Village. And dog friendly!

Shout out to the new and improved Prince of Wales Pub in East Barnet Village. We had a lovely Sunday lunch there with family and friends. Newly refurbished to a high spec, comfortable, friendly, great staff, and they have really good vegan options. Our cauliflower roast even came with a vegan Yorkshire pudding and unlimited roast potatoes! Lovely vegan options for kids too. Mushroom aracini and apple crumble both delicious too. In my opinion, they are just missing a vegan burger and one other vegan desert (sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownie is so easily made allergen friendly for all to enjoy) but all their ice cream is dairy free by default so that’s a massive win and comes in lots of flavours. Food cooked to a high standard, great atmosphere, will be back again soon.

We were served by our waitress Louise who was very lovely. We went during a Tuesday evening and it was quiet which meant the food came quite quickly and the quality was very good. The restaurant is decorated quite nice and has outdoor seating with heated lamps. They are also dog friendly which was nice to see. I also ordered a ginger beer mocktail which was quite nice and would order again. We ordered a charcuterie board to share which was nice to share between three people. The fish skewers were alright but looked a little dry. The pork tomahawk and duck confit were very nice. We ordered a side of salad which should have some dressing in my opinion and the green beans were lovely. For dessert we ordered the lemon meringue tart and pistachio soufflé. Both of which were very good sizes and definitely great for the money you pay. Definitely will be going again. There are a couple spaces of parking but it’s better to park opposite the restaurant in the other car park near the river bank.

Pub has been transformed. Some staff new but the regular staff still there.. Nathan is class. As mentioned in many reviews, Nath brings the personal element and the respect.. makes me feel at home. Thank you Nathan

Late review. Unfortunately the reviews regarding the rude manager are correct. Came In with a friend for a quick drink and was shouted at by this lady as we came in from the wrong way and then to be told they’re not accepting customers as they were closing - that’s absolutely fine however there were tables filled with people in and outside. This was my first time at this place. I decided to leave straight away - it was such a rude encounter that as I was walking outside with my friend, another colleague came running out to apologise for the managers behaviour. I hate to bring race into this but this was the only thing that differed from myself/my mate and everyone else in this pub. Having said that, after reading others reviews, it seems like the manager just doesn’t have the basic skills and etiquette to provide a reasonably decent customer service. How on earth you’ve managed to get a job in management is beyond me. Advice to manager - doctors are here to help. Support is available, just try not to shout when requesting your chill pills.

A regular haunt of ours but our first visit since the refurb finished. Furniture was much improved and the outdoor space looked clean and well structured. Food as always didn't disappoint and the service was fast and friendly. Recommend the landlord....that's the drink by Timothy Taylor not the person, but he/she is probably great too!
