Where do I begin? I do regular food reviews and get excited when I find the exception because they are rare when it comes to ticking all the right boxes from customer service to the quality of food. I also look at how the disabled & very ill are treated. The staff were excellent from the minute they took my call to my order the next day. Sunday. They are a credit to the Stag. I am very ill & cant go into public areas or leave my car without wheelchair assistance. It was not a problem for the lovely ladies who came to my car, took my payment and brought my Sunday roast to me. My carer was at my house by the time I returned home. The food was well packed and nice and hot. To my surprise I was blown away by the good portion size. I just managed to fit it onto my biggest plate. The lamb was tender & full of flavour. The vegetables were not overcooked and held that slight crunch which is how they should be. The Yorkshire puddings were large & perfect. The roast potatoes were the star of the plate. Ive had many roast spuds but those potatoes are the best ive ever had. Golden and crispy on the outside and incredibly fluffy on the inside. Good size too. The gravy was the finest with a strong and morish mint sauce to compliment. It was a roast to the highest standard and good value for money. My compliments to the chefs because im hard to please. Let's get to the good old traditional crumble. Its the first crumble ive had in many years that wasnt a soggy slop. It came in a good size container. The flavour and 2 fruits burst in your mouth and the crumble was crunchy and gently fell apart on contact with the oral palate. The flavour twangs your tongue and very nice. The custard wasnt too runny or too thick and it was a volcanic eruption. Flowing. I could go on for ages about what l liked about the whole takeaway experience. How im treated as a person with serious health issues is where this pub and its restaurant shines. It stands out. Its not just about food. Its about how you care for customers. Those who care about their customers care about food and to get that exceptional experience the restaurant must cover both customers including those who are disabled or vulnerable right through to the food itself. The Stag has far exceeded my expectations. Excellent. Update The 2nd roast meal was not on the same level as the first. I paid for more and got less. It was not on the same level of quality or size.

Once again the Stag excels itself with their wonderful food. We opted for the 3 course Mexican menu and were not disappointed. The food was Michelin star standard. The chef is highly talented and the staff are very friendly and hard working. We look forward to eating and drinking at the Stag again. Highly recommend everything on their menu.

They had a garden party. Great atmosphere. Unfortunately, Terrible barbecue, filth. .... (Great everything else). Didn't eat from the bar can't comment on that side of things. My advise : Charge more money and buy better food. People will be happy to pay it, if its good.

Stumbled upon this place on our way home from visiting a local place of interest. Loved it! Great food, great staff and the pub had a lovely feel about it. Just goes to show that small independently run pubs can work if the staff all make an effort. It really shows her! Can't wait to go back

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We went for lunch here on Sunday and we called 20 mins before, our mistake, but the waiter was very accommodating and reserved a table for us! Now, when we arrived we were greeted and shown our seats and instantly made to feel at home. The waiter then came over to take our order and we of course had to go with the roast! But my mum doesnβt eat too much and so she (the waiter) recommended to go with the kids portion as itβs more than plentiful. The food arrived quickly and even with an extra serving of potatoes (which Iβll get onto) from the kitchen! The meal was served with lots of laughter and good vibes thanks to the cosy atmosphere of the Pub. The roast itself was amazing; I had the gammon, it was thinly cut which wasnβt usually how I have it but was definitely delicious. The sides of shaved parsnips and stuffing as well as veg medley partnered with the food perfectly. Now the potatoes, the star of the show, I donβt know how they made these but they were super crispy and crunchy on the outside and super super soft on the inside. The best potatoes Iβve had hands down and they definitely knew it as well! From the start to the end of the meal, everything was perfect! Thanks again! Will definitely recommend going with family, friends or even by yourself! (No shame)

I think weβve found our new favourite roast and a great midway point to meet family! Quite a last minute impromptu phone call and we were squeezed in for a Sunday Roast. Our greeting was warm and friendly and this continued with the service throughout. The food was sublime, definitely the best roast weβve had in a long time. Just trying to find another weekend when everyoneβs off work to meet in the middle again!

Have been here twice now and each time has been a delight. The staff are extremely nice, friendly and efficient. The food was served hot and was very tasty and filling. This is one of the best pubs I have been to and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
