Today 16 cyclists had lunch at the Black Bull in Fyfield which was excellent. The staff were very efficient and the food was great, very large portions. Will definitely be back. Martin Traditional Touring Club Leigh on Sea
Nice food. But decided not to add my deposit on to the bill. Due to people not turning up. Said they reserved a table for the extra people. But pub was basically empty the time I was there.
A great find - had a lovely roast dinner, nut roast was lovely too. Very generous portions - roast potatoes exceptional!! Very well organised and quick service. Will be returning.
Drove 4 hours to stay here to go to Kelvedon Hatch Secret Bunker. Checked in, the lady was very friendly and advised us about opening and closing hours. We were given the end room (no.10) Room was basic but clean, no duvet though and no smellies in the bathroom. There's an interjoining door that's obviously for a family on the other side, not for a sloshed couple that are going at it, very loudly, 9.30pm! It's now getting a bit later and they are very very vocal, to the point where their activity is playing havoc with our tv reception! It's like having the kids next door but more adult. If you're going to offer rooms, please make sure they're sound proof. Im not a prude but I'd like to be able to get a good night sleep. You can hear every single word and he wasn't very complimentary, poor girl after all that effort! Anyway, food was lovely, service was good and it was nice to be here.
Our first visit..Came here on Saturday for my father in-laws birthday..The food was brilliant and all the staff were very friendly and helpful..Its a really old beautiful pub which has a brilliant open fire.. would definitely come back again ..highly recommended..

Terrific Sunday lunch with 9 of the family. Friendly service in a historic proper pub. Excellent.
Went for Lunch at the black bull pub in fyfield 2day with my best new friend. Had half a chicken & chips & peas. Really enjoyed it. The service was second to none. Massive plate of chicken & chips , I couldn't finish all mine but my friend did his. Lovely pub great hosts excellent food , what more could I ask for. Definitely will be going back. And recommend to my friends...
First time visiting and I was not disappointed, came for a Sunday Roast. The food was beautiful and the portions were huge, great choice of meats. Pub is friendly and welcoming, we will be returning again for another yummy roast
