I had a great experience at the A & E Department and then at the Medical SDEC Department and the hospital paid for me to get a taxi home. I also had a positive experience with the friendly receptionists and staff members. One of the staff members is called Debbie. I would highly reccomend this hospital to anyone who becomes ill.
My thanks goes out to all the urology staff at this hospital , especially Ward 17. All the staff involved in my care were absolutely fantastic and professional. Always happy to see you and help when needed it. The food served was outstanding so my thanks also goes to the kitchen staff for preparing such delicious food. I would make this my go to hospital any time I need one.
Rushed into hospital with Chronic Pneumonia and Aorta issues in June 2025. Spent two weeks on Ward 6 under the excellent care of the marvellous staff including Leanne and Tracy, to name just two, there were many more. Also my compliments regarding the food which was excellent, varied and hot. Thank you all.

I first went to the Alex 8 years ago and have been in for minor surgery this week. The staff are amazing. They were positive and caring, but the communication was the best I have ever experienced from staff who came across to genuinely care and wanting to make a positive difference. I knew exactly what was going on at each stage. The procedure went smoothly and I felt well looked after. The food reminded me of school dinners and was very much enjoyed. It isn’t a new hospital, but the ward I was on was clean and well stocked. The shower was hot. The bed comfortable. Visitors were greeted nicely. Staff were attentive.
I have just returned from the Alex minor injuries unit. From the receptionist to the nurse , doctor and radiographer I cannot express how kind , courteous and professional they all were . I was seen within 2 hours and left the hospital after 4 hours . Really impressed with the whole service.
I spent 15h in A&E and I am grateful for the care I received from the nurses and doctors. Despite of patients overload the staff remained calm and professional very caring for every person. Thank you!
Took my Son to A&E today. The nurses, doctors, cleaning and security staff were all extremely professional and worked together as a team to deal with the incredible workload. Out of hours GP was on site to help out and I got a sense of real teamwork and professionalism. Very proud of the service the staff at this small community hospital were able to deliver. Thank you for treating us with respect and kindness under exceptionally difficult and pressured circumstances.
This was my first time in a UK hospital and I was in and out within 3 hours. I went to A&E originally, but as there was a long wait they moved me to another ward where there was only one person in front of me. I felt very looked after and all staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They did extra testing to ensure everything was looked over, and I felt informed and taken care of.
