Not happy at all, as it feels like I've been misled and I am thoroughly disappointed with John Lewis's service. I'll be recommending that everyone I know stay away as the customer service isn't what it used to be. I purchased a TV using part cash and by claiming a couple of e-vouchers for John Lewis e-gift cards because the price was better than elsewhere and I wouldn't have claimed them for John Lewis if the TV hadn't been that price. They then cancelled and refunded to a gift card, then raised the price of the TV, which feels like they did this so that people would claim vouchers with them and then they'd have to spend them with John Lewis when they got refunded. Spoke to a customer service representative on the phone who said that they would be able to refund the gift card balance to cash (they had confirmed this several times) and told me to ring the gift card department to get this sorted (they gave me the number of a TV phone-in contest instead of their other department) and then I was told by another representative that they couldn't do this and that they wouldn't honour the price of the TV due to a 'pricing error'. I am currently escalating this, as I believe that the money should be refunded in cash, or that, ideally, the price should be honoured for the TV.

Latte and soup plus bread bun £9.40 Later on went back and had cream tea and coffee £8.75. Cafe very clean staff polite service good. Lovely store to look round, my wife also bought new dressing gown. Super quality and last for years. As always a nice experience to shop at John lewis

I bought a bosch speaker on 9 October. This was sent out on the 10 October and JL messaged me to say it was ready to collect. When I went to collect the speaker, I was told it had been recalled by JL. I spoke to customer services who advised it had been recalled due to a fault with the product and I would be refunded within 7 days. Since then I have found the item was not recalled by Bosch but was recalled by JL because they had mis-priced the speaker. Rather than being honest and saying this, they have tried to place the blame with the manufacturer and lied. I spoke to customer services again last Friday (nine days after ordering) because I still had not been refunded. Eventually they confirmed they had received the speaker back and my refund would now be processed but it may take some time because they have lots of other customers also waiting for a refund. How reassuring (not)!! It's now 12 days since I ordered from JL. I have never been in receipt of the item I ordered, they recalled it without informing me leading to a wasted journey to collect it. I have spend well over an hour on the phone and chat to them. They have repeatedly lied about what had happened and they are still witholding my money. I have been a loyal customer of JL for many years but will be shopping elsewhere in future. The trust has been broken.

Unbelievable how Unbelievable unkept the cafe on the 4th floor. pretty much every table was full of cups and dining waste. The staff walked around and went back empty handed on 4 occasions while was there. people complaining about delays in food. There was no sign of management no sign of pride, zero engagement. Don't get me wrong I love shopping in John Lewis, I love to treat my wife and daughter. The reason we didn't eat was if the outside service was like a bomb had hit it I couldn't imagine what the food prep area was like. get a grip... I wouldn't have given any star but it was the lowest option available!!!

Purchased from John Lewis and waited a week for delivery. When their delivery crew arrived on Monday they were full of attitude and simply didn't want to deliver the item because it was heavy and he had a sore wrist. They claimed there was insufficient room to manoeuvre and refused to deliver and install the wash tower. We had to follow-up with their shipping dept who refused to listen to anything we had to say, despite providing the dimensions of our access and hallway which was almost twice the width of the product being delivered. Long and short of it, we had to cancel the order with John Lewis because they flat out refused delivery. Ordered the item from another well known company yesterday which was delivered and installed today (Wednesday) with no issue and no fuss. Drivers today couldn't believe our delivery was refused by John Lewis. Will NEVER order from them again. I hope this serves as a warning to others. Hopefully they have enough ethics to post my review with video and photos. Hopefully they take action with their shipping dept, be it, in-house or contractors. Clearly delivery should never have been refused.

Lovely cafe, wonderful coffee and attentive staff. Men's aftershaves need a bit more separation and highlighting, because they were hard to find. The IT section (From mobiles and headphones to pcs and TVs) worryingly small and there are no incredible bargains. It's concerning that, as one of the last department stores, it is also struggling to stay afloat and this is no more obvious than in IT, white goods and haberdashery, the latter of which is barely hanging on. Tiny kitchen area, but with a lot of interesting stock. It's just expensive. In this climate, I can see things like the overpriced luxury espresso machines being the first white goods item to go. This is all very depressing, because there's nowhere else on the high street to look at, let alone buy these things. Even specialist white goods shops are struggling. Mens clothes as usual, lack imagination and choice. It's the same stuff that was selling 40 years ago and unlikely to change. This is an industry issue. Men have jeans, slacks or business suits in uniform blues and greys. Shirts are white or beach/pub wear. That's it. However, I've noticed that the ranges for women are becoming dull and generic and the choice for teenage girls has worsened over the last decade. Once again, these are industry wide concerns that have grown worse over the last ten years. However, it might explain one reason why they can't compete with online retailers (which don't have the same warehouse costs and advance seasonal ordering complications. High street stores are also partly driven by lack of floor space to offer a better variety of stock, and soon lose touch with their customers as a result). I don't know what the solution is, all I know is that if the goods excited me, and the markups were lower, I'd buy a lot more from the High Street. Shareholders have to wake-up to today's world. Shoppers no longer have the money to spend. Shareholders need to cut their profits accordingly and plough it back into the business, with cheaper clothes and greater innovation. For too many years fashion has been a golden cash cow and they've grown complacent. One reason John Lewis is still hanging on is that they have tried much harder to offer shoppers better, more affordable ranges, because their staff are currently all shareholders (although not in any meaningful way in terms of having a say in the running of it). The car park is good, a modern multistorey. The shopping complex John Lewis owns and which the shop is built within has rapidly shown the scars of the country's recession, with many of the exciting brands that were there on opening having now gone bankrupt, or closed its franchises there. It's a similar story with all shopping centers today. They need better disabled parking opportunities around the site, but the location is good within the city center and it's worth a visit.

John Lewis isn’t the shopping experience it was and they wonder why they have lost over £250million. There was a time when you went to JL and the there was a wide range to choose from with advisers to help, Today in Leeds there were 15 people in my queue, when I got to the checkout, rather than take my money they want to know if I have the App? If they haven’t got the item they ask you to look online, In understand many people now buy on line, however, if I visit a City Centre I expect a wide choice and a service

This is a big store with several storeys and a wide range of products. There are public toilets which are generally clean and tidy. There are escalators and lifts between the floors. The multistorey carpark is also pretty good with normal sized spaces and no tight ramps.

About this Place ★☆☆☆☆
I get so much joy coming here and shopping or just to walk through. The staff are relaxed and helpfull. Easy to get around the departments. The cafe and restaurants are really clean with staff very attentive. The whole place is super clean and importantly don't leave with out trying out the cakes.
