IKEA Leeds is a great store with a wide range of furniture and home products. Friendly staff and a nice restaurant area. Can get busy, but overall a good shopping experience!
I mean. It's IKEA, not a lot more to say other than it's a dastardly maze designed to entrap you into purchasing all of the lovely shiny objects. And somehow come out with a 4 foot snake that your 2 year old son just "Absolutely had to have". Meatballs are good mind.
What is happening to IKEA? This was my first trip to IKEA after sometime. Previously, I have always had great customer service at the Edmonton store. The purpose of the visit was to buy a sofa. We duly entered the appropriate department and found the sofa which we wanted to purchase. There was no-one available to process the payment - the cash desk and self-payment facility was closed. We went to another department and was advised to return to the sofa area as someone would be available to help us. We did this and of course, there was no-one there! n IKEA employee, in a hi-viz vest was busy sorting out stock. We asked him how we could pay for the sofa. He said he would find someone and went off to get help. After 10 minutes he returned and explained that the supervisor for the area was absent and that we would have to order online!!!! I explained to him that we had travelled from Hull, had been stuck in traffic and had no intention of ordering online! I then demanded to see a manager and would not move until I had spoken to a senior. He telephoned someone and said he would go and speak to someone. He eventually returned and said that an appropriate person was on her way to help. The appropriate person was Ems (Emma) who was very helpful and customer friendly. She apologised for the confusion and was very professional in her approach. She save the face of IKEA and and processed the transaction to our satisfaction. It seems to me that this IKEA is vastly under staffed and that morale is low - the management need to evaluate what is happenning on the shop floor! We then headed to the restaurant which was a nightmare! The queues were massive and only one person was serving a line of what must have been at least 60 people! We waited an hour to be served! However, the food was very tasty and good value! I did however have to refill my coffee as the initial serving was stone cold! There was definitely a strange atmosphere in the store. The staff we spoke to were great - won't be rushing back!
I noticed while in the endless queue to get a piece of fish (that looked and tasted like cardboard) in the restaurant that all the tray trolley wheels were absolutely matted and tangled up with human hair. Not just one trolley, all the trolleys. I reported my observation to IKEA customer service, which was hard enough (round in circles on the online chat and phone). They seem to think that I am out for compensation. I was offered a £10 voucher which felt like it was simply given to everyone in the hope their complaint just goes away. I didn't ask for this, nor do I want it. I clearly stated that my interest was to know if the problem would be tackled or dealt with. Their response so far has been dismissive and has made me feel that I am out for money. In an email today I get told "Whilst I appreciate the impact this situation has had on you, I must inform you that at this time, we are unable to offer further compensation beyond the goodwill gesture already extended." I haven't asked for anything - only to know that the problem will be sorted - which I have received no response to. So why must this person inform me of this? Ikea - get some staff who can empathetically and transparently respond to complaints and stop presuming that everyone is trying to get their hands on money or whatever.
IKEA Warehouse offers an impressive shopping experience with its wide selection of stylish, affordable, and functional furniture. The layout is well-organized, making it easy to explore and get inspired. Staff are helpful and courteous, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. A perfect place for home ideas and great value.
Large ikea just off the m62 in Leeds. Convenient location at the Birstall shopping complex. Has a large multi-storey car park with 2m height limit. And then a smaller car park at the back for taller vehicles. Has everything you are likely to need from an ikea. Showroom is well presented. Restaurant is quite large and the market hall has a lot of choice being one of the larger ikea stores. It gets very busy at the weekend, especially the restaurant. If you want to browse peacefully best off going on a weekday evening. The birstall shopping complex also gets really busy and the traffic management isn’t great. Best off turning right out of Ikea to avoid it.
I love IKEA so 5 stars from me. Great for small and large items, storage, room layouts, colour ideas. Didn't know I needed some things till I saw them. Great value for money, good cafe and lots of parking.
Drove to Leeds as it was the only ikea with stock of the item I need. Didn’t realise until we got there that there was a play area where I could leave my daughter to play whilst we shopped. She loved it in there! Food was good, took a little while to wait but it was busy. Staff were friendly and the outdoor play area was great too!
Amazing experience, they have got everything you need. Inspiration everywhere, well organised, offers and touch screen to help you find your items. I recommend you download the IKEA app, so that you enjoy specials discounts. The only thing is that is very far away from the bus stop.
Everything you need to furnish your home and more. Easy to navigate your way round found the staff to be very helpful. The café serves a decent menu at low prices. Give your self plenty of time if you're going to take a good look round easy to spend 2 to 3 hours.
