Second time I have used St Lukes Cares, and this time was even better than the first. I needed to clear quite alot of furniture from a house and wasn't certain what they would take. Having contacted them, Sally arranged for someone to come and look and advise what they could and couldn't take to sell - it was basically only the fabrics settees and chairs without fire labels that they would have had to charge to take because they would have to dispose of them. I then arranged with Sally two dates in January for collection. Simon and Brian turned up on time, were both very friendly and professional, and worked hard to clear a full van load in a couple of hours. They then returned again the following week to complete the clearance....even returning one item that I had let go by mistake the previous week. I was delighted with both the service and the fact that they were very quickly able to sell the furniture to those in need in South Leeds. Excellent job!

We had a big house to clear. St Luke's sent a nice man around who walked around the house and looked at everything to be picked up - including the outbuildings to be cleared - and a date was set for the pick-up. I was told they weren't going to charge me for the clearance, as there was so much stuff they could use - they just wanted a donation toward the fuel. Two men came in a large van on the agreed day, and filled it to the brim with furniture. They kept saying how good everything was, that they'd be able to sell it in their shop. However, they ran out of room and left some furniture - as well as all of the stuff in the garage and shed, a lot of which was for the tip. They said they'd have to charge me for the rest (OK, I figured it would be reasonable, given how much good furniture they took) and to call them when I'm ready. I transferred £100 to them for the fuel costs. Well, yesterday I rang them - and was told they now can't do it! They're having problems with their van. Really? They got all the good stuff but don't want to deal with the rest? After several phone calls and emails to St Luke's (while I was also frantically trying to find someone else to do the job), I finally heard back from Sally. She was defensive at first and said there must have been a misunderstanding. Given that her man walked around with me prior to the clearance, this seems unlikely. She finally said she'd find a way to do it, but she didn't know when, and by then I'd found a local company to do it. Overall, I can't help but feel I've been taken advantage of. If they didn't want to deal with the rest, they should have said so and saved me a lot of trouble; I was happy to donate the furniture (but regretting the £100 I gave them on top of that). I'm giving them 2 stars because Sally did try, once I kicked up, to find a solution, but the experience has left me feeling rather disillusioned.

Bought a sofa and armchair from St Luke’s in the shop, lovely customer service and staff were very helpful. Delivery was 3 days later and the delivery men were really kind, polite and helpful. They took extra care not to damage the furniture. any walls or the doorframe when it was brought in. We are thrilled with our furniture and for the price it was an outstanding service. Thank you very much and we will be coming back again!

Pretty disappointed to be honest. Rang last week to donate a very nice recliner sofa and they called back to arrange collection yesterday morning up to 12.30. I had to ask someone to wait in all morning and at 12.40 I called only to be told they were sorry but got the wrong day of collection because they usually start collections on a Wednesday and this week it was Thursday. So, again today I arranged for someone to wait at my home for collection this morning and they’ve cancelled! More annoyed that the lady this morning wouldn’t accept that the lady yesterday got the date wrong!

I rang to see if they would be willing to take a faux leather sofa we don’t use any more. It’s been hardly used but I was going to take it to the tip as I didn’t think anyone would want it. They were so friendly and helpful and when we dropped it off they were just so grateful. Over the phone & in person I have never heard the word ‘thank you’ so often - I felt quite humbled & am glad someone will make use of something that would have gone to landfill. I’m gonna search round for some more things to donate to this lovely charity.

Booked a furniture removal service which was sorted in just over a fortnight which is an amazing turnaround time considering the current CoVID restrictions in place. The removal guys were efficient and friendly and had the 4 large items we were donating out of our hair in no time. Would really recommend using this service rather than adding to unnecessary waste if moving house or just having a spring clean :)

My Mum rang last week to a collection to be made as she specifically asked the shop if they collect clothing etc, she was told a definite 'yes we do', made an appointment for several bags and other things to be picked up but nobody has turned up. She rang again today only to be told that 'oh we don't collect clothing' but the first time she rang she was also asked 'is it a non-smoking house' which it is. The person she spoke to was quite off hand did not sympathise what so ever as my Mum is disabled with bad mobility and I was not at home my Mum had to struggle to get everything downstairs ready for them. Neither my Mum, myself and I will certainly will tell other people to never ever donate anything to St. Luke's again and not to ever buy anything there again. The amount of money that we have spent in there and we get treated like this is absolutely appalling.
