My initial experience with Fields, when I booked my car in for an MOT and service was good. They collected and dropped off the car and I thought that was easy. However despite having a perfect vehicle before, immediately after something felt off and had assumed maybe it was just settling in after the service, but no more that 2 months post service my car started experiencing severe issues which led me to breaking down on the highway, my engine light coming on and having both the coil and all spark plugs replaced. I thought that was it, but the issues continued to persist and was getting worse which seemed more like a transmission issue and when I contacted them to book it in to check what was happening I was given a date 2 weeks in advance and was advised they were open from 8-5:30 with no time slot provided, only saying cars being booked in for a service must arrive first thing. With no communication otherwise, I finish my morning meetings and jump in the car at 11 to drive over, only to receive a phone call saying it was now "half way through the day" and I would have to bring my car in another day, bear in mind it wasn't even midday. The gentleman on the call was extremely rude and difficult, and whilst it was evident they had not communicated clearly and their booking said they were open until 5:30 with no appointment time, I was trying to be understanding and flexible, despite already being in the car, having waited weeks and planning my day around it. I was met however with the worst customer service. The only new "slot" they could book me in was in another 2 weeks, when I was due to go away, and whilst I was thinking I can make alternative plans to have the car taken in, he continued to be rude, condescending, questioned precise details of my travels plans which seemed extremely inappropriate and was not the least bit accommodating, despite also being aware I had experienced some health issues that had limited my mobility. The experience was so awful I decided it was better I go somewhere else, as at this stage not only could I not trust them to create any more issues with my car but I couldn't trust treat me respectfully. Extremely disappointing and would highly recommend your staff receive customer service training.

MOT and Annual Service. Car failed its MOT. Required a small part, which they ordered. Was told it would be ready for collection the following day rather than same day collection. Next day came and no response from Fields. Called them at midday and was told that the part had arrived, but it was unlikley to be fitted that day and they would need a third day as "all their ramps were in use". Appreciate they are busy but would have been helpful to have been advised at the outset that the part would take three days to fit. I require my car for work and had to make other costly arrangements at short notice.

I came to Fields Car Centre on thé fly because my window wipers were playing up. Instead of booking me back in and faffing around keeping the car etc, they fixed them for me on the spot. By far the best garage I've been fortunate enough to find. It was recommended to me by another garage owner - a competitor - who now only does trade work. I had my car MOT tested last year and will do so again this year. It's not just the quality of the work and customer service (as genuinely impressive as those are) but also the clear and consistent honesty of advice that's communicated in a friendly and professional manner by all of the staff I've had contact with. This is especially important to me given that my old car could otherwise be a money hole. The people who work here also seem to be happy doing their job which isn't the case in many other garages I've been to. It's a great garage in terms of customer service based ethics and honesty and I would very strongly recommend Field's Car Centre as the first port of call.
