I had a fantastic time staying here. I was here 4 nights due to a conference nearby, and was very happy with my stay. Lynn always did a great job with breakfasts, and the staff at the bar was always kind and helpful in the evenings. The room was nice and clean, and it was a great experience overall. I definitely recommend them!

Everything is positive with this Bar and Hotel. Staff are welcoming to newcomers or loyal patrons. Food is excellent. The rooms are heated and cleaned daily, alongside bedding changed everyday. The competitive prices are very good value. Staff constantly ask how your stay is and if we require anything to make our stay more satisfying. I certainly have no complaints and feel welcomed by all. Great job done as a team. Its unfortunate, I cannot name people serving the patrons, but you know who you are. I have nothing negative to broadcast, or nothing to complain about. Highly professional service throughout the whole team. Wonderful and appreciative. Thank you all. Cannot wait to stay in November 2025. By the Grace of God go high. Many blessings to you all, your grace shines through highly respectfully and considerately.. Staff always engaging but will leave you in peace to enjoy the room with full access to TVs . I would also highly recommend a visit. I am well impressed with everyone's professional and highly supportive approach treating the quests with compassion, careingly respectful at all times. Best wishes and Geace, peace and blessings to all.

I have stayed at Shanahans on several occasions over the last three years. The Staff are truly amazing, warm welcome each time I either reside here or just use the Irish themed Bar and Stairway to heaven, which leads to a roof top Outside Beer Garden, which as room for approximately 100 people under Sheltered cubical and conservatory with large TVs and music, as well as a very large screen so as to enjoy tge Sky Sports etc. Food is served here all day upto approximately 19:00 hours. As well as Breakfasts and evening meals for Hotel Patrons. Meals are exceptional each time thanks to the Kitchen Staff who are very polite and respectful of our needs. I would highly recommend Shanahans to anyone looking for profoundly competitive prices and a place to stay for Bisiness or Pleasure. Shanahans have a good and decent pool table also. The locals are welcoming and friendly, always eager to please and satisfy the quests as well as the managers and staff, whom really care and serve all Patrons or punters enjoying the vast range of beers, spirits and wines on offer. They have several high tech' entertainment machines etc... Would highly recommend the prices and the many rooms available which are either twin rooms or three bed accommodation, excellent for families with children, or shared accommodation for work parties etc. We have tried the rest now I recommend you try the best Hotel and bar for miles around. Booking is easier by booking direct through the caring staff on duty. By booking this way, there is rhe ability to negotiate a booking fee for your room. Only Fifty pounds at current charges per night. Making allowances for twin or triple bedrooms availability with full amenities. Rooms are cleaned and bedsheets changed daily by conscientious professional, cleaning staff always eager to support each and every requirement in a bespoke setting. The ombiounce and atmosphere is amazing. A real step back to traditional public houses, serving the local clientel etc... Thank you everyone. Excellent service and treated as a human being and not a room number. BRAVO!!! See you all again very soon. I certainly look forward to my next visit. Nothing to winge about and always highly satisfied as other patrons converse their satisfaction over a meal or beverage...

Stayed overnight because I had a meeting in Aston. I love this place. Proper pub vibes and villa theme, watched the darts in the evening and a reasonably priced bar. Rooms are perfect for the price and the heated towel rail was nice. Beds are really comfy and the shower is hot. What's not to like?

We have just left Shanahans after a one night stay. Firstly the ladies who work there are lovely! Marleen(I think was her name wore glasses) checked us in & she was so helpful. We had drinks in the Irish bar downstairs while waiting for the room. On check out Lynne was so lovely asking how our night had been etc. It's not a fancy place & the room was very small but it's ideal for a bed for the night after a night out in Birmingham. I'd definitely stay again just for the fact the ladies working there were down to earth & lovely.

Great location for the price. Paid £90 for the night and walking distance to Villa Park. The pub downstairs is great for watching sports and to get a drink. Free cheeseburgers before the Villa game was a very nice touch. Friendly people working there. We parked at a public car park ten mins away for £4.50 but can park on the roads nearby for free.

Room had a dirty towel on top of wardrobe, wardrobe looked like it was going to collapse, empty drinks bottle beside the bed. Told a number for our bathroom and everyone was using it (did not state a shared bathroom) no mirror in room. Kitchen again shared and very dirty Place needed a good deep clean would not recommend

The staff deserve a 5*. We stayed there as it was for one night and close to a venue we were attending, not to mention cheap. First impressions was that the pub needed a good lick of paint to brighten it up, a deep clean and modernising. However, the bedroom and bathroom, although very basic, was comfortable and relatively clean. The staff were very accommodating, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was value for money and basic tea/coffee making facilities were available downstairs, with access to making toast if you wished to. This venue meets basic needs and we would go back again for a one/two night stop over; would stay longer if the owner invested some money into renovating it!
