Came to watch an evening game of football at the Hawthorns and this hotel was a great option. Very conveniently located for both the motorway and the ground. A safe place to park the car. Good bar, clean room and friendly staff. I was able to book a twin room which suited my needs perfectly. Very satisfied with the hotel.

My room wasn’t cleaned after the first night of my stay and the general cleanliness of the hotel wasn’t great. Reception staff didn’t seem interested when I asked for house keeping to come and clean the room, offering me a clean towel instead. Food was acceptable although small portions. However the conference facilities and staff were excellent, especially Ronnie would went out of his way to check all was running well and to offer help.

Our recent stay was for a family funeral. Although our mood was low due to the circumstances we were overwhelmed with how good this hotel was. We stay in many hotels around the world due to work and this was fantastic. The room was perfect, the food was exceptional and the service was first class. A huge thank you to Gerry, she made our whole stay so enjoyable. The owners should be proud of her work ethic to go the extra mile with all our questions or requests. We will definitely stay here again in the future when visiting family or working in the area.

Really lovely breakfast, pool and jacuzzi very clean and good hours. Staff friendly, especially Mairita on reception. Comfy beds and pillows, requested a room with a bath last minute which was accommodated. Would recommend to anyone. Very pleasantly surprised for the price! Room service also good quality food.

We had a fantastic 2-night stay at the Mercure Hotel Birmingham West as a family. From check-in to departure, everything went smoothly. The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A special mention to Mairita, who went above and beyond to assist us during our stay – their warm attitude and helpfulness really stood out. The breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of options that pleased both adults and kids. Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a family break. Overall, we had a lovely experience and would be happy to stay here again. Highly recommend for families visiting Birmingham.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful on arrival. On Sunday morning there was no hot water to my room and I was unable to have a shower before departure. I was told that either the boiler needed resetting or that the tank was empty. This was around 7.30am on a Sunday morning. I contacted the duty manager by email, as the front of house manager suggested, and the reply two days later said I would get a proper reply in 2-3 working days but this did not happen.

Very pleasant stay, hotel was very clean & our room was quiet. Our granddaughter visited us but unfortunately she was ill, however the hotel staff were very understanding & most helpful. Her parents and ourselves were very glad for their calm & professional response. We’ll definitely make a point of staying at the Mercure again.

Travelled from Ireland and had a lovely stay here. Room was really nice and the bed was super comfortable. The shower was also AMAZING!!! Food in the bar was also good with a nice variety to choose from. Only negative I would have is that it is 20 minutes in a Uber from the city.

Visited for a girlie spa day/night. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but don't this fool you. The hotel is fitted out well and the rooms are a good size but the bathroom was a little tight. Breakfast was good as well as the spa facilities. The afternoon tea was a meal in itself.

A really good place to use as a base to explore this area and a perfect location if you're visiting the Commonwealth Games. The staff were all great - very friendly, welcoming and helpful and you felt like a valued guest. The public areas were well maintained and attractive and the rooms were spotlessly clean - top marks and many thanks to the housekeeping staff. There were also lovely additional (and unexpected) touches - a handwritten postcard saying welcome to Birmingham and a bag of sweets, plus a small packet of seeds - slightly odd, but rather sweet and thoughtful. The bed was very comfy and the temperature in the room was adjustable to suit. The rooms we had (360 and 362) were very quiet. The hotel restaurant has plenty of choice: the food was good, nicely presented and the portions generous. Again, the waiting staff were really great. There was plenty of choice at breakfast too and the hot dishes were checked regularly and replaced when running low. The restaurant was also very clean and tidy, with clear care being taken. Lots of parking space and all seemed secure and well lit. All in all a great stay.
