    Interesting shop...ideal for ideas if you're trying to freshen up a room. Mostly quite modern stock, but seemed well made, and some of the sales prices were more affordable. Nice solid wood furniture, cushions, nick nacks and ornaments, lighting etc. More stock upstairs so it has more in it than you might imagine.

    In-Store Purchased items in used and extremely poor condition!! Please give customers UNOPENED goods - not old returns or damaged stock!! I bought some items in store a few weeks ago and the product (and packaging) in question I was sold was in terrible condition as seen in photos below. Obviously, I've not realised the poor state of the packaging as I was also juggling other bags of various things. And one would expect a store-bought item to be sealed and in brand new condition... As I was walking home, I found that the packaging was so bad that I couldn't carry it via. it's handle as the weight of the product inside combined with a clearly already opened box (and poorly re-sealed with sellotape) meant that the contents would spill out. When I did manage to get back to my flat (whilst carrying the item with my arms across my chest to prevent the cardboard tape and packaging coming loose whilst also trying to balance bags on my shoulders), I opened the packaging to find that the product inside was chipped, had splintered wood, many many scratches and areas in which the paint had been scratched off. Photos don't capture this well but the product I bought was in extremely poor condition. Not the standards I expected of Futon Company. This product was clearly used and should never have been set aside as stock to sell in-store. The in-store experience itself wasn't the best either as the sales assistant had more interest in continuing a conversation with another customer than ringing up the next people in line. This normally wouldn't be so bad, but if the assistant wanted to continue their conversation if would've been politer to say, "hold on I'm just going to serve another customer" and then easily carry on with their conversation after 30 seconds or so. I found this very rude. Customer services is abysmal. They fail to see the issues regarding product quality and trying to get a refund or replacement has been ridiculous. Despite poor quality, I was offered "some money back" if I keep the damaged goods, or, I return the product and get a refund. The return is a hassle in itself. Good luck trying to organise a home collection date when the customer service agent won't respond promptly to your emails. After 5 days of waiting for a response in which I stated the dates I would be free for home collection, I had to send a follow-up email. And by the time they did respond, the dates I had available had already passed meaning I am wasting more time trying to get my money back. Customer services also won't give you an address or instructions on what you need to write on the parcel for ParcelForce to then collect it. I had to ask for this when I realised that the customer service agent hadn't actually given me this information. I am extremely dissatisfied. Not only was I given damaged goods, but returns are also an absolute nightmare. It's been more than 2 weeks since I first emailed Futon Company about this but clearly they do not see any issue. This has been a huge waste of time.
